US, Qatar Discuss Plan to Create ‘Arab NATO’, Expansion of Largest Gulf Airbase

The business of America is war!

https://www.amazon.co.uk/American-War-Machine-Connection-Afghanistan/dp/074255595X

This provocative, thoroughly researched book explores the covert aspects of U.S. foreign policy. Prominent political analyst Peter Dale Scott marshals a convincing array of evidence to expose the extensive trail of sanctioned but illicit violence in politics and state affairs, especially when related to America’s long-standing involvement with the global drug traffic. Beginning with Thailand in the 1950s, Americans have become inured to the CIA’s alliances with drug traffickers (and their bankers) to install and sustain right-wing governments. The pattern has repeated itself in Laos, Vietnam, Italy, Mexico, Thailand, Nigeria, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Panama, Honduras, Turkey, Pakistan, and now Afghanistan-to name only those countries dealt with in this book. The so-called war on terror, and in particular the war in Afghanistan, constitutes only the latest chapter in this disturbing story. Click on image to goto Amazon.

  • US, Qatar Discuss Plan to Create ‘Arab NATO’, Expansion of Largest Gulf Airbase
    by https://sputniknews.com/
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Qatari Deputy Prime Minister Khalid Al-Attiyah met in Washington to discuss the Trump administration’s proposal to create an Arab security alliance, the State Department said in a press release on Wednesday.

“Secretary Michael R. Pompeo met today with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Khalid Al-Attiyah,” the release said. “The Secretary and the Deputy Prime Minister discussed working toward a Middle East Strategic Alliance, anchored by a united GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council), to advance prosperity, security, and stability in the region.”

President Donald Trump’s administration has proposed creating the Middle East Strategic Alliance, an Arab security pact widely referred to as an “Arab NATO,” made up of the six Arab states of the GCC along with Egypt and Jordan.

The goal of creating such an alliance of Sunni Arab states would be to counter the growing influence of Iran in the Middle East, US officials have said. Similar US initiatives to establish a collective Arab security pact have failed in the past.

The Trump administration’s efforts to create the alliance have been hampered by an ongoing rift between Qatar and the other Arab states in the GCC. In June 2017, GCC members Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, along with Egypt, severed diplomatic relations with Qatar, accusing the country of supporting terrorism. Qatar has firmly denied the accusations.

Bin Salman ‘Tried to Persuade Netanyahu to Go to War in Gaza’ Say Sources

  • Bin Salman ‘Tried to Persuade Netanyahu to Go to War in Gaza’ Say Sources
    by David Hearst, https://www.middleeasteye.net/
War was among scenarios suggested by damage-limitation task force established to advise Saudi crown prince in aftermath of Khashoggi killing

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman attempted to persuade Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to start a conflict with Hamas in Gaza as part of a plan to divert attention from the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, sources inside Saudi Arabia have told Middle East Eye.

A war in Gaza was among a range of measures and scenarios proposed by an emergency task force set up to counter increasingly damaging leaks about Khashoggi’s murder coming from Turkish authorities, according to sources with knowledge of the group’s activities.

The task force, which is composed of officials from the royal court, the foreign and defence ministries, and the intelligence service, briefs the the crown prince every six hours, MEE was told.

It advised bin Salman that a war in Gaza would distract Trump’s attention and refocus Washington’s attention on the role Saudi Arabia plays in bolstering Israeli strategic interests. It also advised bin Salman to “neutralise Turkey by all means” – including attempts to bribe Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with offers to buy Turkish arms and statements by the crown prince attempting to shore up relations between Riyadh and Ankara.

Ex-Bahraini Minister Warns of Joint Arab-Israel Plot Against Palestine

Note: the idea of expanding Gaza into the Sinai desert is BOGUS. The Zionists want to expel all Palestinians in Gaza into the Sinai desert.

  • Ex-Bahraini Minister Warns of Joint Arab-Israel Plot Against Palestine
    by https://www.presstv.com/
Bahrain’s former minister of education Ali Fakhro has criticized Saudi Arabia and its regional allies for their willingness to establish diplomatic relations with the Tel Aviv regime, arguing that such attempts would pave the way for the Israeli military to continuously target Palestinians.

“The Occupation regime (Israel) continues its efforts to get rid of Palestinians in the remaining parts of occupied lands,” Fakhro told Arabic-language Arabi 21 online newspaper, noting that Israel has usurped 85 percent of the historical Palestine, leaving “only 15 percent for 14 million Palestinians.”

“Israel enjoys full political support of the administration of US President Donald Trump, who is overly eager to put an end to the existence of the Palestinian cause,” he pointed out.

“There is a large and complicated conspiracy aimed at getting rid of the Palestinian cause,” he said, stressing that all “justifications” given for the normalization of ties with Israel are “originally meant to liquidate the Palestinian cause.”

Fakhro also criticized intensive contacts between Arab and Israeli officials, emphasizing that internal Palestinian disputes have facilitated certain Arab states’ efforts to forge ties with the Israeli regime.

A senior official of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement recently the fact that Persian Gulf kingdoms are dramatically warming their relations with the Tel Aviv regime after secret contacts is a decision dictated to them by the Saudi regime.

“Persian Gulf states’ attempts at normalizing ties with Israel is a decision made by the royal Saudi family, because Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salam is currently facing numerous crises, namely the war on Yemen, the murder of prominent dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi as well as internal  and external challenges. He is pinning hope on the Israeli regime in order to save himself,” Deputy Chairman of Hezbollah’s Executive Council Sheikh Nabil Qaouq said.

Israeli Minister Gallant: We’re Ready for Peace with Arab States

  • Israeli Minister Gallant: We’re Ready for Peace with Arab States
    by ANNA AHRONHEIM, https://www.jpost.com/
‘We have shared interests and a shared enemy: Iran’
Israel is ready to make peace with every Arab country, Construction Minister and former OC Southern Command Yoav Gallant told The Jerusalem Post in an exclusive interview.

“All of the relations we have with Arab countries, every relationship that is conducted behind closed doors and not publicly, this is done by their own choice. Israel is ready for peace with every Arab country,” Gallant, who is also a member of the security cabinet, told the Post in his office in Jerusalem ahead of the paper’s annual Diplomatic Conference.

“If you look at the picture, there is no real reason for Saudi Arabia or the Gulf states to fight with Israel. We have shared interests, a shared enemy called Iran, which threatens Saudi Arabia from close with all that it has. And therefore there is no reason we should not be in the process to have peace in the region,” he said.

“Israel always stretches its hand out for peace with its neighbors… as it did after the Yom Kippur War with the Egyptians.”

While Israel has no official ties with any Arab country except for Egypt and Jordan, the relationships with Saudi Arabia and Gulf states have grown stronger in recent years due to the shared concerns about Iran’s actions and ambitions in the Middle East.

Palestinians ‘Cast to the Margins’ as Israel Deepens Ties with Gulf Arab States

Note: the idea of expanding Gaza into the Sinai desert is BOGUS. The Zionists want to expel all Palestinians in Gaza into the Sinai desert.

  • The Arab leadership have sold out the Palestinians to Trump’s Deal of the Century. This is a plan to drive the Palestinians into the Sinai desert. Publicly, they will deny it but all the leaks have confirm it.
  • Palestinians ‘Cast to the Margins’ as Israel Deepens Ties with Gulf Arab States
    by Ali Harbhttps://www.middleeasteye.net/
Cooperation between Israel and Gulf countries ‘should be expanded,’ says Israel’s intelligence and transportation minister

A surprise meeting with Oman’s Sultan Qaboos. A tour of the largest mosque in the United Arab Emirates. A call for a rail link between Haifa and the Gulf.

Over the last month, Israeli leaders have made a string of friendly visits, gestures and statements towards Arab leaders in the Gulf, positioning Israel for what appears to be a more overt alliance with Gulf states, from Oman to Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

The Palestinian struggle for statehood, meanwhile, has been “cast to the margins” by the leaders of these same Gulf countries, said Saeed Khan, a senior lecturer in Near East studies at Wayne State University in Detroit.

“It seems as though, among the Saudis, UAE and to a certain degree Oman, they are clearly putting their stock with the official Israeli political line. They’re either turning a blind eye or seemingly not at all interested in the Palestinian issue,” Khan told Middle East Eye on Thursday.

Khan’s comments come as Israel’s intelligence and transport minister called for a deeper partnership between his country and its neighbours on the Arabian Peninsula, including in the fields of transportation and tourism.

“In my view cooperation between Israel and the Gulf states can and should be expanded,” Yisrael Katz told Reuters via email on Thursday, a few days after he returned from a visit to Oman earlier this week. “Israel also has a lot to offer when it comes to water desalination and irrigation, agriculture and medicine.”

Katz wasn’t the only Israeli leader to visit the Omani capital, Muscat, in recent weeks. Late last month, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a surprise visit to the Gulf country, meeting with its leader, Sultan Qaboos bin Said. Israel’s Sports and Culture Minister Miri Regev was also in the nearby UAE last month, where she met Emirati officials and toured the world’s third-largest mosque, in Abu Dhabi. Khan said leaders in Israel and the Gulf are experiencing a “sense of empowerment” thanks to US President Donald Trump.

He explained that Washington has given a green light to its allies in both places to work jointly and openly on their common goal: building a united front opposed to Iran.

At the midway mark of the US president’s first term in office, and with Trump facing investigations at home related to possible collusion between his election campaign team and Russia, there is a “moment of desperation” to strengthen ties between Israel and Gulf countries, Khan said.

“There’s an expedited timeframe by which the Gulf states and Israel are operating in order to provide a united front and exert maximum pressure against Iran,” he told MEE.

    The Palestinian issue
The White House has also been readying a peace plan to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, dubbed by the Trump administration as the “deal of the century”. But Palestinian leaders have already signalled that they will not accept Washington’s proposal.

Kushner and Mossad in Jordan: Israeli-Arab Secret Meeting in Aqaba Revealed — Arabs Have Sold Out the Palestinian People to the Deal of Century

Note: the idea of expanding Gaza into the Sinai desert is BOGUS. The Zionists want to expel all Palestinians in Gaza into the Sinai desert.

  • Kushner and Mossad in Jordan: Israeli-Arab Secret Meeting in Aqaba Revealed
    by SyndiGate.info, http://www.albawaba.com/, 28 June 2018
He was called the “Godfather” of the US proposed peace plan for Middle East, Jared Kushner and Trump’s advisor on Israel, Jason Greenblatt had arranged a secret meeting for Arab Intelligence Chiefs and their Israeli counterpart in Jordan’s southern city of Aqaba to discuss peace in the region.

France’s Intelligence Online website and Israel’s Channel 10 reported the secret meeting that took place on June 17, 2018 at the request of the American envoys, Greenblatt and Trump’s advisor Kushner on the peace process in the Middle East, known as “Deal of the Century”.

    ….
The meeting came one day ahead of the secret meeting that was officially announced later between the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu and Jordan’s King Abdullah II in Jordan on latest developments in the region and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Lately, talks on the so-called “deal of the century” and the changes expected to be made on Jerusalem’s status for Palestinians have been rising. It has some Arab leaders expressing their implicit acceptance to the deal while others are facing mounting pressures to submit the plan.

Last week, Kushner, the broker of the deal, and Greenblatt began their journey in Saudi Arabia, before going to Qatar, Egypt, Jordan and Israel to arrange the plan without any Palestinian engagement, although the plan concerns Palestinians more than anyone else.

Israeli media reports following the meetings suggest that many Arab countries said they will back the peace deal “regardless of whether the Palestinian Authority is on board”, including Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and ‎the United Arab Emirates, Israel Hayom reported. It also suggested that the plan will most-likely be presented in August 2018.

Why Is Benjamin Netanyahu Defending Mohammed bin Salman? Trump’s Deal of the Century

Note: the idea of expanding Gaza into the Sinai desert is BOGUS. The Zionists want to expel all Palestinians in Gaza into the Sinai desert.

  • Why Is Benjamin Netanyahu Defending Mohammed bin Salman?
    by Richard SILVERSTEIN, https://www.strategic-culture.org/
The Saudi crown prince is the key Arab linchpin of the Trump-Netanyahu deal of the century and shares Netanyahu’s animosity toward both Iran and Erdogan.

For the past month, while governments and media outlet around the world sounded a drumbeat of shock and dismay over the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, all that could be heard on the subject from Israel was the sound of crickets. Israeli columnist Ben Caspit said his country’s leadership was avoiding the subject “like the plague”.

It appears no Israeli politician wants to say anything for fear of offending that country’s latest Arab bromantic partner, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Bin Salman, according to many analysts, would have had to have ordered the murder of a figure as prominent as Khashoggi.

Then on Friday Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finally gave his view on the Khashoggi case, saying it had to be “dealt with” but not at the cost of the stability of Saudi Arabia and the fight against Iran.

MBS: the linchpin of Trump deal
MBS, as he’s known, is the key Arab linchpin of the Trump-Netanyahu deal of the century, which is supposed to finally resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict. The details of the delayed proposal, which Trump and his Middle East appointees continue to promote, has been widely reported in various media outlets. Leaked parts of the deal, many analysts say, suggest it is highly favourable to Israeli interests and largely disregards Palestinian rights.

Despite the one-sided nature of the plan, MBS has dutifully attempted to sell it to the Palestinian leadership. In a command performance, in which the Saudi crown prince summoned Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to his royal palace, MBS told a reluctant Abbas that if he didn’t acquiesce, he should resign. The implication was that the Saudis would find another Palestinian leader who would agree to such a deal.

So far, Abbas has resisted this Saudi offer and not lost his head – or his job. Later, King Salman even reasserted the Saudi commitment to a deal which offered Palestinians a state within 1967 borders, which the new Trump plan eschewed.

A peace agreement that is favourable to the Israelis is something that comes along once in a lifetime. So, Netanyahu realises that stepping into the Khashoggi imbroglio is the last thing he wants to do. If there is even a slight chance the Saudi prince can come through, he doesn’t want to upset this apple cart. Caspit’s Israeli government sources lay out further argument for laying low on this subject.

Saudi Arabia Answers Pompeo’s Call For Yemen Ceasefire By Ramping Up Airstrikes

  • Saudi Arabia Answers Pompeo’s Call For Yemen Ceasefire By Ramping Up Airstrikes
    by Tyler Durden, https://www.zerohedge.com/
The Saudi Air Force has unleashed a massive attack across the Sana’a Governorate over the last 48 hours, reports Middle East-based Al Masdar News citing Yemeni sources on the ground. This appears to be the Saudi response to the U.S. call for a ceasefire “in the next 30 days” announcedby Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo a mere two days ago.

According to the reports from Sana’a, the Saudi Air Force heavily bombarded the capital city and its surroundings, hitting a number of sites that allegedly have a Houthi presence. The string of airstrikes also hit civilian neighborhoods, including the area around Sana’a International Airport — all resulting in an unknown number of casualties. Given the timing it appears the Saudis are ready to unleash as many bombs as possible ahead of a potential US negotiated ceasefire suggested by Pompeo and Mattis; or alternately it could be the Saudis are now quickly escalating the war further to ensure a ceasefire cannot be obtained.

This comes as the Trump administration has released early details of a UN-brokered peace plan aimed at ending the war in Yemen, beginning with a ceasefire within a month along with talks to be held in Sweden.

US Calls for the End to the Saudi-Backed War in Yemen | Inside Story

  • Al Jazeera English Published on Nov 1, 2018
Enough is enough – is the message from the United States to the warring parties in Yemen. The Americans want a halt to more than three years of combat between Houthi rebels and the Saudi and UAE led coalition supporting Yemeni government troops. The US Defense Secretary is calling for a ceasefire by the end of the month. The United Nations is welcoming the US appeal to replace combat with compromise. But the American message to Saudi and Emirati allies could fall on deaf ears. Thousands of reinforcements have been sent this week to the rebel-held city of Hodeidah – its the major port for the massive amounts of food and aid needed to keep millions of Yemenis from starving to death. But with many failed peace efforts in the past, will this time be any different?

‘Petrodollar’ Exposed: The Root of Special US-Saudi Relationship

  • RT America Published on Nov 1, 2018
In a special segment, Anya Parampil speaks with In Question producer Kei Pritsker to examine the roots of the special relationship between Saudi Arabia and the United States. Kei explains how the alliance is based on Saudi’s ability to manipulate global oil markets through its petrol production, as well as the fact that Riyadh saved the US dollar following the collapse of the gold standard in 1971. Saudi’s decision to only accept the dollar for oil purchases in 1974 breathed new life into the US currency, the viability of which was in question following the Nixon Gold Shock.
