Gold Reserves Surge 1,000% In Hungary As It Joins Poland, Russia, China and Other Central Banks Buying Gold

Remember the Golden Rule: “He who has the gold Rules!” © Reuters

  • Gold Reserves Surge 1,000% In Hungary As It Joins Poland, Russia, China and Other Central Banks Buying Gold
… Here is our Friday digest of the important news, commentary, charts and videos we were informed by this week including our special podcast on Direct Access Gold.

From our perspective, the most important developments were the IMF’s financial warnings and the escalation in central bank gold buying with Hungary increasing its gold reserves by a whopping 1,000% due to increasing “safety concerns.”

For the first time since 1986, Hungary’s central bank is buying gold bullion – a lot of gold bullion. The Eastern-European country announced that it had boosted its gold reserves ten-fold, up to 31.5 tons. It not only dramatically increased its reserves but also repatriated the gold from the Bank of England to Budapest due to concerns about “financial stability”.

Central banks in Europe are diversifying into gold or moving to repatriate and take “possession in country.” Hungary and Poland are the most recent central banks to do this but they follow in the footsteps of Austria, Netherlands and the powerful German Bundesbank all of which have been repatriating their gold from the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve in recent months and years.

Russia Welcomes Foreign Banks to Join Its Money Transfer Alternative to SWIFT

  • Russia Welcomes Foreign Banks to Join Its Money Transfer Alternative to SWIFT
Foreign banks will soon be able to become part of Russia’s money transfer network which serves as an alternative to the traditional SWIFT (Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication) system.

“Non-residents will start connecting to us this year. People are already turning to us,”
said First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Russia Olga Skorobogatova. Earlier, the official said that by using the alternative payment system foreign firms would be able to do business with sanctioned Russian companies.

As of September, 416 Russian companies have joined the System for Transfer of Financial Messages (SPFS), including the Russian Federal Treasury and large state corporations including Gazprom Neft, Rosneft, and others, the Central Bank said.

The potential exclusion of Russia from SWIFT worried the country’s banks in 2014, when the EU and the US introduced the first round of international sanctions against Moscow over alleged involvement in the Ukraine crisis and the reunification with Crimea. SWIFT has said it remains neutral in the political conflict.

There have been reports that despite such claims, the US has enough power to block transactions through SWIFT. In 2012, Danish newspaper Berlingske wrote that US authorities managed to seize money being transferred from a Danish businessman to a German bank for a batch of US-sanctioned Cuban cigars. The transaction was made in US dollars, which allowed Washington to block it.

SWIFT is a financial network that provides high-value cross-border transfers for members across the world. It is based in Belgium, but its board includes executives from US banks with US federal law allowing the administration to act against banks and regulators across the globe. It supports most interbank messages, connecting over 11,000 financial institutions in more than 200 countries and territories. The European Union is also working on an alternative to SWIFT. The project, promoted by Germany, will help Brussels to bypass US sanctions against Iran.

Russia And China Prepare To Ditch Dollar In Bilateral Trade

  • Russia And China Prepare To Ditch Dollar In Bilateral Trade
    by Tyler Durden,
In a time when many nations have gone public with their intention to ditch the dollar in part or in whole, in bilateral trade with non-US counterparts, either to prevent the US from having “veto power” of commerce courtesy of SWIFT or simply in response to Trump’s “America First” doctrine, attention has long focused on Russia and China – the two natural adversaries to the US – to see if and when they would accelerate plans for de-dollarization.

To be sure, the two nations wouldn’t be the first to reduce their reliance on the dollar, as we have discussed in recent months:

Moscow ‘Ready for Larger-Scale Provocations’ by the West, Says Lavrov

The Russian Bear will not be bullied or intimidated by the west.

  • Moscow ‘Ready for Larger-Scale Provocations’ by the West, Says Lavrov
Western provocation, the prospect of WWIII, and China’s closer stance with Russia are just some of the topics that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has spoken about with RT France.

“We will be ready for larger-scale provocations too. But our answer is very simple – if they talk to us through the media, we will respond through the media too, but specifically and in a correct manner,” Lavrov said, answering questions from RT France, Paris Match and Le Figaro.

Going further, he said a third world war is an unimaginable scenario, noting that “everybody would be sane enough not to let it happen.” However, an aggravating factor is the absence of any dialogue between the Russian military and NATO.

Tensions are still high between the two, Lavrov said, citing the recent mid-air incident in which a Spanish fighter jet accidentally released an air-to-air missile during a training mission in Estonian skies. “Thank God, there were no casualties, but what if it would have landed on Russian soil? Everything is so close there.”

It all comes as the US is updating its nuclear doctrine, the top diplomat stated.

They’re creating low-power nuclear weapons with a clear intent to potentially use them in combat.

The toxic political climate in European capitals and Washington makes mending ties extremely hard, Lavrov added. While the European Commission remains “trapped” by countries opposing reconciliation with Russia, the American elites are also fueling tensions. “I think it’s silly to remain hostages to the whim of American lawmakers,” he said.

While the West continues to slap Moscow with sanctions and trade cuts, Russia’s relations with Beijing and other Asian powers are on the rise. “We needed to compensate for the low level of economic cooperation with Europe,” the foreign minister explained. “And we saw growing opportunities for that in China, India, Japan, Korea.” China, after all, is Russia’s major international partner, he noted.

We never had such relationships with China, like we have now.

Huge!! Petrodollar Collapse? Saudi Arabia Warns $200 Barrel Oil?!

  • US sanctions on Riyadh would mean Washington is stabbing itself
    by Turki Aldakhil,
I read the Saudi statement in response to the American proposals regarding sanctions on Saudi Arabia. The information circulating within decision-making circles within the kingdom have gone beyond the language used in the statement and discuss more than 30 potential measures to be taken against the imposition of sanctions on Riyadh. They present catastrophic scenarios that would hit the US economy much harder than Saudi Arabia’s economic climate.

If US sanctions are imposed on Saudi Arabia, we will be facing an economic disaster that would rock the entire world. Riyadh is the capital of its oil, and touching this would affect oil production before any other vital commodity. It would lead to Saudi Arabia’s failure to commit to producing 7.5 million barrels. If the price of oil reaching $80 angered President Trump, no one should rule out the price jumping to $100, or $200, or even double that figure.

An oil barrel may be priced in a different currency, Chinese yuan, perhaps, instead of the dollar. And oil is the most important commodity traded by the dollar today. All of this will throw the Middle East, the entire Muslim world, into the arms of Iran, which will become closer to Riyadh than Washington.

There are simple procedures, that are part of over 30 others, that Riyadh will implement directly, without flinching an eye if sanctions are imposed. This is all when it comes to oil, but Saudi Arabia is not just about oil, it is a leader in the Muslim world with its standing and geographical importance. And perhaps trusted exchange of information between Riyadh and America and Western countries will be a thing of the past after it had contributed to the protection of millions of Westerners, as testified by senior Western officials themselves.

Imposing any type of sanctions on Saudi Arabia by the West will cause the kingdom to resort to other options, US President Donald Trump had said a few days ago, and that Russia and China are ready to fulfill Riyadh’s military needs among others. No one can deny that repercussions of these sanctions will include a Russian military base in Tabuk, northwest of Saudi Arabia, in the heated four corners of Syria, Israel, Lebanon and Iraq.

At a time where Hamas and Hezbollah have turned from enemies into friends, getting this close to Russia will lead to a closeness to Iran and maybe even a reconciliation with it.

It will not be strange that Riyadh would stop buying weapons from the US. Riyadh is the most important customer of US companies, as Saudi Arabia buys 10 percent of the total weapons that these US companies produce, and buys 85 percent from the US army which means what’s left for the rest of the world is only five percent; in addition to the end of Riyadh’s investments in the US government which reaches $800 billion.

The US will also be deprived of the Saudi market which is considered one of the top 20 economies in the world. These are simple procedures that are part of over 30 others that Riyadh will implement directly, without flinching an eye if sanctions are imposed on it, according to Saudi sources who are close to the decision-makers.

The truth is that if Washington imposes sanctions on Riyadh, it will stab its own economy to death, even though it thinks that it is stabbing only Riyadh!

TOTAL SHUTDOWN Of Space… Hubble & Chandra Telescope Gone Offline … What Are They Hiding?

  • NASA’s Chandra telescope follows Hubble into a shutdown
    by Mariella Moon@mariella_moon,
The 19-year-old observatory might also be in need of a vacation.
NASA sure hasn’t been having a great time with its telescopes. The Chandra X-ray Observatory has gone into safe mode and halted all its science operations a few days after Hubble shut down due a gyroscope failure. According to the agency, Chandra’s transition into safe mode was possibly triggered by an issue that also has something to do with its gyroscope, the component in charge of pointing and stabilizing the telescope.

Chandra went into safe mode on October 10th at around 10:55 AM ET. It started using its backup hardware after the shutdown and shifted its solar panels to get maximum sunlight. Thankfully, the agency concluded after analyzing data from the transition that its scientific instruments are safe and sound. The Chandra observatory uses X-ray technology to keep an eye on black holes and supernova remnants, among other things.

Like the Hubble, Chandra is also getting long in the tooth: it was only supposed to last for five years, but it’s been operating for the past 19. Investigation is still underway, but Chandra astronomer Jonathan McDowell said it’s just a coincidence that the two high-profile observatories went down almost at the same time. NASA seems confident that the telescope can go back to normal operations, though, and expects it to be able to “continue carrying out forefront science for many years to come.”

Draco the Dragon Constellation
Revelation 12 New King James Version (NKJV)
3 And another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads. 4 His tail drew a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth.
Satan Thrown Out of Heaven
7 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them[a] in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Ukrainian Forces Fire Over 700 Shells at LPR in Past Week

  • Ukrainian Forces Fire Over 700 Shells at LPR in Past Week
At least 13 populated localities came under fire by Ukrainian forces in the past seven days

LUGANSK, October 12. /TASS/. Ukrainian forces have fired 730 shells into the territory of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) over the past week, acting chief of the LPR people’s militia Mikhail Filiponenko said on Friday.

“In the past week, the Ukrainian forces have violated the ceasefire 39 times. More than 730 mortars and shells were fired into the republic,” he was quoted by the LuganskInformCenter news agency as saying.

According to Filiponenko, at least 13 populated localities came under shelling by the Ukrainian military. “I want to underline that each case of shelling is documented and all the materials proving the Ukrainian authorities’ war crimes against Donbass people are handed over to the LPR investigative bodies for criminal inquiries to be opened. Each criminal will be held accountable,” he added.

After a regular Minsk meeting of the Contact Group seeking peace in eastern Ukraine, another ceasefire named the ‘back-to-school ceasefire’ came into force at midnight on August 29. Nevertheless, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) reported that the Ukrainian military breached the agreement by shelling the outskirts of Gorlovka three hours after the ceasefire had become effective. Since the outbreak of hostilities in Donbass, the sides have reached more than 20 ceasefire agreements. The most successful of them was in 2016 when a lull lasted for six weeks.

NATO Supreme Commander: US Carrier Off Norway’s Coast Puts Russia ‘On Notice’

  • NATO Supreme Commander: US Carrier Off Norway’s Coast Puts Russia ‘On Notice’
The USS Harry Truman, a 104,000 ton Nimitz-class aircraft carrier capable of deploying some 90 combat and support aircraft, has entered the North Sea in preparation for Trident Juncture, a series of drills which are expected to become the largest alliance exercises in the region since the Cold War.

NATO Supreme Allied Commander in Europe Curtis Scaparrotti has characterized the deployment of the USS Harry Truman in the North Atlantic “a demonstration of our capabilities” to Moscow.

“We are ready and we are trained and we will protect the Atlantic,” Scaparrotti said, speaking to Sky News.

Pointing to Russia’s efforts to modernize its military, the general noted that the alliance needs “to continue to increase” its “capabilities and to train so that we remain dominant in war-fighting capabilities. Strength is how we deter conflict, and our job is actually to prevent [it] and we will do that with a strong alliance,” he said.

Accusing Russia of conducting “illegal activities” and engaging in “malign influence below the level of war,” Scaparrotti said he was “glad” that the US was “calling it out because we need to put them on notice.”

Jim Willie: Fascism Perfect Antidote — The Gold Standard

Remember the Golden Rule: “He who has the gold Rules!”

  • Fascism Perfect Antidote: The Gold Standard
    by Jim Willie,, via
Gold is the perfect antidote for the fascist state and its pervasive penetrating corruption laced with bellicose global actions. Gold eliminates (or rather vastly reduces) the potential for pilferage and theft in the financial management offices. Gold eliminates the potential (or vastly reduces) the potential for endless war with the vast slush funds for the military industrial complex. Gold eliminates (or vastly reduces) the corruption like a grand parasite with extensive tentacles across the several critical business sectors. The fascist state is not a well-known concept to the Western observers, even though they endured World War II. Most people have a poor comprehension of the fascist state by its basic nature, and prefer to hold onto examples of its form, its many manifestations. The majority refuse to observe and to identify the fascist state within their midst, before their eyes, in their home countries.

The fascist state is defined as a tight collusion between the government and several key business sectors, within a self-designed and evolved crime syndicate of vast proportions, which has arranged privilege for profiteering like a parasite, and in almost all cases engages in hostile actions militarily against enemy and allied nations alike.

The resulting effect of their destructive policy (not just bad policy), has been the organization of the community of nations, a coalescing of their policy movements, toward establishment of the Gold Standard, with the final retirement of the USDollar as global currency reserve, given an exclamation point by colossal international USTreasury Bond dumping.

In the last few months, a phenomenon has become vividly apparent in a cooperative effort toward the implementation of the Gold Standard. The initiative has for its requirement numerous critically important preparatory events, toward facilitating the implementation of gold in trade payments as well as banking reserves, but also toward reducing sharply the risk of global war. In fact, it can be easily stated that global war is the stock & trade of the globalist fascists. They use war to gain power, to steal gold reserves, to force debt upon nations, to reduce the population, and to enjoy the fires like the devoted Satanists that they are.

The phenomenon is that US President Trump, Chinese President Xi, and Russian President Putin are working together in a grand humanitarian project. Their endeavor is to install the Gold Standard, to ensure global economic transition, and to avoid global war. It is called the Global Financial RESET. It was all set back in January 2014 with over one hundred nations as signatories, but the globalist fascist banker thugs decided to launch a war in Ukraine instead. Their trump eliminated the RESET, but in reality only delayed it. The globalist banker cabal had more money to steal, more arms deals to complete, more QE monetay expansion to exploit, more nations to wage predatory war upon (see Syria & Yemen). The TPX trio has conducted meetings in secrecy. They form the allies of sound money and fair trade, as hard as that is to accept and to swallow. Follow their deeds, and not their words. The US-China trade war might seem violent in the commercial sense, but it has reduced the bilateral trade deficit and has created an environment for encouraging new US businesses with a profit potential.

Trident Juncture 2018 Is About to Kick Off: NATO’s Big War Games Near Russia’s Borders Never End

  • Trident Juncture 2018 Is About to Kick Off: NATO’s Big War Games Near Russia’s Borders Never End
    by ALEX GORKA,
The NATO-led Trident Juncture 2018 (TRJE18) exercise that is to be held in October and November is the largest massive and coordinated show of force since the Cold War. It will primarily be hosted by Norway. The training event will largely take place in the central and eastern parts of this Nordic country that neighbors Russia, as well as over the skies and in the seas of  Sweden and Finland. The maritime component will be conducted in the surrounding areas of the North Atlantic and in the Baltic Sea. TRJE18-related activities will take place as far away as Iceland. Russia has been invited to send observers to watch the exercise.

Actually, TRJE18 consists of three parts. The deployment phase has been underway since August. A live field exercise will be held from October 25 to November 7 with six brigades fighting each other right in the heart of Norway. A command post training event will be conducted from November 13 to November 24.

The drill will involve 45,000 participants from over 30 nations, including 10,000 rolling or tracked vehicles, 150 aircraft, and 60 ships. The main goal is to test the ability of NATO’s new Response Force to rapidly deploy. Norway will evaluate its ability to receive and handle reinforcements sent by its allies.

There are 700 US Marines stationed in Norway. That’s not a huge force, but as Adm. James Foggo, who heads all US naval forces in Europe and Africa and commands the Allied Joint Force Command in Naples put it, “that’s 300 Marines today. 3,000 Marines tomorrow.” The American pre-positioned forward storage sites in Norway, a complex of caves, have been upgraded to store weapons and equipment for roughly 15,000 Marines. That Scandinavian country has become the source of a threat to Russia’s national security.

The Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group is also taking part. The aircraft carrier returned to its home base in Norfolk in July following a three-month deployment. It was back in Europe in mid-September. Normally, US carrier groups operate according to a standard seven-month cycle. Now they are being shifted to “dynamic force employment” in order to improve flexibility.

Finland will contribute significantly to this exercise that is based on a simulated Article 5 scenario, with its troops operating in their home region, in Sweden and Norway. It will also lead and host the naval exercise Northern Coasts 18 (NOCO18) in the Baltic Sea, which is linked to Trident Juncture. Finland is sending about 2,000 troops to TRJE18. The size of that force is comparable to the contributions made by leading NATO members. For example, Germany is sending 4,000 troops, the UK — 3,500 troops, France – 3,000, Canada — 2,000, Denmark — 1,000, Italy — 1,500, Spain — 1,000, and the Netherlands — 1,500. The US contribution will be 12,000 soldiers, and the primary host is sending 6,500 servicemen. There were only about 160 Finnish troops participating in the last Trident Juncture held in 2015. Three years ago, the drill was held in southern, not northern Europe.
