  • South Korea is the Newest Country Seeking to Eliminate Cash And Wants to Do So by 2020
    by http://www.thedailyeconomist.com/
First it was Sweden, who’s people are so intoxicated by technology that it was not very difficult to get them to give up their cash to run on an entirely electronic financial system.  Then in November India decided to jump on the Cashless Society bandwagon, only unlike their counterparts living in the Northern part of Europe, their citizens are the exact opposite and do not trust their government or banking system to take away physical cash from the economy.

Thus when it comes to creating a world without physical money it is on par with how half the world is content to be as sheep and follow the globalists desire to control every aspect of their spending, saving, and investing, while the other half is infused with the frequency of Populism, and realize that without the ability to control your own money in a physical form, then nearly all freedoms are permanently lost to the whims of elected and un-elected officials.

As we are now well into the first quarter of 2017, and living in the aftermath of Brexit and the election of Donald Trump, the battle is on for the establishment to hold onto the status quo, while at the same time fighting a populist movement that seeks to tear down their power base built upon a foundation of debt, credit, and privately owned central banks.  And at the fore are two more major economies push strongly towards a cashless monetary system.

And those two entities are the European Union, and South Korea.

EU Steps Up The Pace For Cashless Society In 2017/18

  • EU Steps Up The Pace For Cashless Society In 2017/18
by Graham VanbergenTrue Publica, via http://www.globalresearch.ca/
On the 23rd January 2017 the EU Commission issued the “Commission Initiative Roadmap” for 2018 regarding the step up fight against the financing of terrorism, also known as its ‘Payments Restriction Initiative’ or as we are reading more often, the cashless society. This document is an extension of  the communication document dated February 2016 (COM-2016/50) and updated to include new regulations for member countries to implement and future intentions by the Commission.

The policy looks to the “Regulation on the controls of cash entering or leaving the Community  and relevance of potential upper limits to cash payments.” The Action Plan states that “Payments in cash are widely used in the financing of terrorist activities.” In its conclusions on the fight against terrorism, the Economic and Financial Affairs Council of 12 February 2016 called on the Commission:

“to explore the need for appropriate restrictions on cash payments exceeding certain thresholds. In particular the Proposal for an amendment of the Anti-Money Laundering Directive2 (COM (2016) 450), which introduced stricter transparency rules and other measures targeted specifically at terrorism financing. Furthermore, the initiative should be seen in conjunction with the ECB’s decision of 4 May (20163) to discontinue the production of the EUR 500 banknote and stop the issuance of this denomination by around 2018 to address concerns that these notes could be used in financing illicit activities.”

The report goes on to advise that “any measure restricting cash payments would be complementary to the specific actions addressed by the review” and to include “virtual currencies (such as BitCoin) and prepaid instruments (such as pre-paid credit cards) when they are used anonymously.”

New anti-money laundering rules will cover high value goods such as works of art, precious stones or auctioneers, which requires that they apply customer due diligence measures, full identification of customers and keeping records of transactions when receiving cash payments of €15,000 or more. This latest document extends the cash payments rule by reducing the €15,000 limit on transactions to €10,000 by June 2017.

Unbelievably, the EU Commission is using the logic of banning cash by stating their “remains the lack of readily available and solid evidence on legitimate vs illegitimate cash transactions.” They maintain that “It is difficult to quantify the legitimate or illegitimate use of cash.”

These statements are clearly untrue. Evidence on the amount of cash and how it is used in any given economy is widely known and many government’s even publish it quarterly or annually. For instance, on average, wallets in Germany hold nearly twice as much cash—about $123 worth—as those in Australia, the US, France and Holland, according to a recent Federal Reserve report on how consumers paid for things in seven countries. Roughly 80% of all transactions in Germany are conducted in cash. (In the US, it’s less than 50%.) And cash is the dominant form of payment there even for large transactions.

G. Edward Griffin: “A Cashless Society Is The Ultimate Globalist Endgame!”

  • Published on Feb 10, 2017
During an interview conducted by Josh Sigurdson and John Sneisen with G. Edward Griffin (author of ‘The Creature From Jekyll Island’), Mr. Griffin called out the incredibly dangerous risks of what a cashless society would mean for the vast populace.

Of course we aren’t talking about a cashless society like Bitcoin or other non-centralized blockchain, we’re talking about a centrally planned cashless society which is currently being pushing in countless countries across the world as a sort of trial run to be incorporated into the SDR (Special Drawing Rights), or… a world currency.

A cashless society would enslave the populace to the banks. If your money’s not yours if it’s in the banks and strictly the bank’s, then if all transactions are always through the banks, your money is ALWAYS theirs. Not to mention you lose all privacy and any remnants of free markets through this type of implementation and you also lose your ability to own physical value, though fiat’s not much better if at all in that case.

There cannot be runs on the banks in a cashless society and as G. Edward Griffin points out, this is the ultimate endgame of the globalists, to tear apart any remaining financial freedom and completely enslave the global populace in debt. This topic is broken down incredibly well by Mr. Griffin.

Cash No Longer King: Europe Moves to Begin Elimination of Paper Money

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+13%3A16-18&version=NKJV

  • Cash No Longer King: Europe Moves to Begin Elimination of Paper Money
    by Shaun Bradley, http://theantimedia.org/
(ANTIMEDIA) — In the shadow of Donald Trump’s spree of controversial actions, the European commission has quietly launched the next offensive in the war on cash. These unelected bureaucrats have boldly asserted their intention to crack down on paper transactions across the E.U. and solidify a trend that has been gaining momentum for years.

The financial uncertainty amplified by Brexit has incentivized governments throughout Europe to seize further control over their banking systems. France and Spain have already criminalized cash transactions above a certain limit, but now the commission has unilaterally established new regulations that will affect the entire union. The fear of physical money flowing out of the trade bloc has manifested a draconian response from the State.

The European Action Plan doesn’t mention a specific dollar amount for restrictions, but as expected, their reasoning for the move is to thwart money laundering and the financing of terrorism. Border checks between countries have already been bolstered to help implement these new standards on hard assets. Although these end goals are plausible, there are other clear motivations for governments to target paper money that aren’t as noble.

Negative interest rates and high inflation are a deadly combination that could further destabilize the already fragile union in the future. With less physical currency circulating, these trends ensure that the impact of any additional central bank policies will be maximized. If economic conditions deteriorate, the threat of citizens pulling cash out of their accounts and starting a bank run is eliminated in a cashless system. So long as the people’s wealth is under centralized control, funds can be shifted at will to conceal any underlying problems. But the longer this shell game is allowed to persist, the more painful it will be when reality overrides the manipulation.

Since former Chief Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kenneth Rogoff, published a paper last year advocating for the U.S. $100 bill to be removed, governments around the world have pushed forward their agendas towards a cashless society. He wrote:

The -Other- “Ban” that Was Quietly Announced Last Week: Europe’s Ban on Cash

  • The -Other- “Ban” that Was Quietly Announced Last Week: Europe’s Ban on Cash
    by Simon Black, https://www.sovereignman.com/
Most of the world is in an uproar right now over the travel ban that Donald Trump hastily imposed late last week on citizens of seven predominantly Muslim countries. But there was another ban that was quietly proposed last week, and this one has far wider implications: a ban on cash.

The European Union’s primary executive authority, known as the European Commission, issued a “Road Map” last week to initiate continent-wide legislation against cash.

There are already a number of anti-cash legislative measures that have been passed in individual European member states. In France, for example, it’s illegal to make purchases of more than 1,000 euros in cash. And any cash deposit or withdrawal to/from a French bank account exceeding 10,000 euros within a single month must be reported to the authorities.

Italy banned cash payments above 1,000 euros back in 2011; Spain has banned cash payments in excess of 2,500 euros. And the European Central Bank announced last year that it would stop production of 500-euro notes, which will eventually phase them out altogether. But apparently these disparate rules don’t go far enough.

According to the Commission, the presence of cash controls in some EU countries, coupled with the lack of cash controls in other EU countries, creates loopholes for criminals and terrorists. So that’s why the European Commission is now working to standardize a ban on cash, or at least implement severe restrictions and reporting, across the entire EU.

The Commission’s roadmap indicates that forthcoming legislation, likely to be enacted next year. This is happening. And it may serve as the perfect case study for the rest of the world.

A growing bandwagon of academics and policy makers in other countries, including the United States, UK, Australia, etc. has been calling for prohibitions against cash. It’s always the same song: cash is a tool for criminals and terrorists.

Things Just Got Serious in Europe’s War on Cash

  • Things Just Got Serious in Europe’s War on Cash
    by Don Quijones, http://wolfstreet.com/
To protect citizens from threats as defined by apparatchiks in Brussels.

The central authorities in Europe just launched their most important offensive to date in their multiyear War on Cash. The new move comes directly from the European Union’s executive branch, the European Commission, which just announced its intention to “explore the relevance of potential upper limits to cash payments,” with a view to implementing cross-regional measures in 2018.

Maximum limits on cash transactions already exist in most European countries, and the general trend is downward. Last year, Spain joined France in placing a €1,000 maximum on cash payments. Greece went one better, dropping its cap for cash transactions from €1,500 to €500. In simple terms, any legal purchase of a good or service over €500 will need to be done with plastic or mobile money.

In some countries, the maximum cash limit is significantly higher. For example, in Europe’s biggest economy, Germany, recent attempts by the government to set a threshold of €5,000 triggered a fierce public backlash. The German tabloid Bild published a scathing open letter titled “Hands Off Our Cash,” while a broad spectrum of political parties condemned the proposed measures as an attack on data protection and privacy.

“Cash allows us to remain anonymous during day-to-day transactions. In a constitutional democracy, that is a freedom that has to be defended,” tweeted the Green MP Konstantin von Notz. Even Bunderbank President Jens Weidmann criticized the government’s proposals, telling Bild (emphasis added): “It would be fatal if citizens got the impression that cash is being gradually taken away from them.”

  • The Simple Reason Why the Global War on Cash Will Continue

India’s cash ban continues to create problems… Here are a few of the headlines regarding this issue:

In Its Third Month, India’s Cash Shortage Begins to Bite
    (NY Times)

Cash-ban distress leaves scant room for India budget giveaways (Times of India)
Indian Bank’s World-Beating Profit Growth at Risk on Cash Ban (Bloomberg)

A normal would see these developments and think “the cash ban will probably be reversed… after all, it’s having a negative impact on the economy.”

The only problem is that the political class is not comprised of normal people. And they don’t care about the economy. All they care about is remaining in power.

Put another way, unless a policy results in getting kicked out of office, it’s not considered a problem.

Just look at India, despite the clear evidence that banning some 86% of cash in circulation has been an economic disaster, the country is pushing forward by… banning more cash.

Davos Elite Plan U.S. Cashless Society – Complete Enslavement To The Banks

  • Published on Jan 23, 2017
Josh Sigurdson breaks down the recent push at the Davos, Switzerland World Economic Forum by Nobel Prize winning professor Joseph Stiglitz to create a complete cashless society within the United States in the near future.

As we recently reported on, the U.S. M0 is in a down spiral in a way trends have never shown before. M0 is cash and coin in circulation and it seems that the number in circulation has been drying up fast since 2015.

Since India has recently taken 86% of physical cash and coin out of circulation while waging a war on black/free markets, the rest of the world seems to think that it’s alright to do so in their country as well.

Well, Joseph Stiglitz claimed at Davos that it’s time for the U.S. to go cashless as well and this means absolute enslavement by the banks. When your money’s in the bank, it’s no longer yours, it’s the banks. So if all transactions go through the bank digitally, that means your money is never yours. But of course the globalist elites use the excuse of “stopping corruption” which anyone with an IQ greater than room temperature can see through.

With bail-in regimes being written into legislation across the board, this also poses a massive risk of people’s money just being swept up to pay off debt and bringing them to their knees, begging the state for money which creates a perpetual circle of servitude.

On top of all of this, all transactions will be transparent, destroying any remnants of privacy. This is an incredibly dangerous agenda being played out in front of us. Either stand now, or forever be ruled by the banks.

The Sinister Agenda Behind the Washington’s War On Cash

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+13%3A16-18&version=NKJV

  • The Sinister Agenda Behind the Washington War On Cash
    by F. William Engdahl, http://www.williamengdahl.com/index.php
It’s kinda sneaking up on us like an East Texas copperhead pit viper. It began to get some wide attention in 2016, with prominent economists and financial media suddenly talking about the wonderful benefits of a “cashless society.” Then the government of Narenda Modi completely surprised his citizens by suddenly announcing withdrawal of larger denomination currency notes from circulation, forcing Indians to put their cash into banks or lose it. Now, everywhere we turn, it seems, someone is arguing the Nirvana benefits of a cashless, “digital” money world. It reminds me in an eerie way of a statement attributed to then US Secretary of State, Henry Kissinger in the 1970’s. He reportedly stated, “If you control oil, you control entire nations; if you control food, you control the people; if you control money, you control the entire world.” Consider the following in this regard.

    Modi and a USAID ‘Catalyst’
On November 8, 2016 in a surprise televised address, Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi announced that, within a deadline of days, all Indian currency notes of 500 and 1,000 Rupees must be put in a bank account and exchanged for smaller denomination notes. At today’s exchange rate 1,000 Rs is roughly equal to $15. This would perhaps be equivalent to the US Treasury outlawing all cash notes larger than a $10 bill.

Overnight, Modi’s government de facto outlawed an estimated 86 percent of all cash in circulation by value. People had 50 days to hand in the notes or they become worthless. Yet the government, despite stating it would issue new, more secure 500Rs and 1000Rs bills, had nowhere near the equivalent value of new notes ready for replacement. They say it may take up to a year to print enough, which means confiscation, de facto. Faked opinion polls with slanted questions done only via smart phone apps of which only 17% of the population has access, claimed that “90% of Indians approve” the demonetization.

Yet it’s far worse. India is an underdeveloped country, the largest in the world in population terms with more than 1.3 billion people. By demanding Indians turn in all 500Rs and 1,000Rs bills to banks, Modi is forcing major change in how Indians control their money in a country high on the corruption scale where few trust government let alone private banks, and prefer to deal strictly in cash or hoard gold for value. Nearly half the population, some 600 million Indians, do not hold a bank account and half of those, some 300 million Indians, lack a government identification, necessary to open an account.

When he presented his shock announcement, Modi pitched it in terms of going after India’s black economy. Soon he shifted gears and was praising the benefits of a “cash-less society” to enable Indians to enter the digital age, appealing to younger Indians, savvy in smart phones and digital networks, to convince the older of the benefits of online banking and consuming. The drastic demonetization declaration was planned by Modi and five other inner-circle ministers in complete secrecy. Not even the banks were told before. The question is what is behind, or rather who is behind this drastic form of monetary shock therapy?

    Beyond Cash
The answer is as sinister as it is suggestive of a larger global agenda by what I call in one of my books the Wall Street “Gods of Money.” The Modi cash-less India operation is a project of the US National Security Council, US State Department and Office of the President administered through its US Agency for International Development(USAID) . Little surprise, then, that the US State Department spokesman, Mark Toner in a December 1, 2016 press briefing praised the Modi demonetization move stating, “…this was, we believe, an important and necessary step to crack down on illegal actions…a necessary one to address the corruption.”

Keep in mind that USAID today has little to do with aiding poorer countries. By law it must follow the foreign policy agenda of the President’s National Security Council and State Department. It’s widely known as a conduit for CIA money to execute their dirty agendas abroad in places such as Georgia. Notably, the present head of the USAID, Gayle Smith, came to head USAID from her post as Senior Director at the US National Security Council.

German economist and blogger, Norbert Haering, in an extensive, well-documented investigation into the background of the bizarre Modi move to a cash-less India, found not only USAID as the key financial source of the project. He also uncovered a snake-pit of organizational vipers being funded by USAID to design and implement the India shock therapy.

USAID negotiated a co-operation with the Modi Indian Ministry of Finance. In October, 2016 in a press release USAID announced it had created and funded something it named Project Catalyst. The title of their report was, “Catalyst: Inclusive Cashless Payment Partnership.” Its stated goal it said was to bring about a “quantum leap” in cashless payment in India.

Fast forward to this week at the Davos Economic Forum in Davos Switzerland, and Nobel Prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz all but said the exact same thing.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already removed 86% of his country’s currency from circulation in an attempt to curb tax evasion, tackle corruption and shut down the shadow economy.

    Should the US follow suit?

Joseph Stiglitz, Nobel Prize-winning economist, thinks so. Phasing out currency and moving towards a digital economy would
, over the long term, have “benefits that outweigh the cost,” the Columbia University professor said on day one of the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos…

“I believe very strongly that countries like the United States could and should move to a digital currency,” he said,
“so that you would have the ability to trace this kind of corruption. There are important issues of privacy, cyber-security, but it would certainly have big advantages.”

Again… the War on Cash is not slowing down. India effectively removed 86% of the physical cash in circulation and no one was forced to resign. Put simply, India signaled to the global elites that you can implement a near complete ban on physical cash, and there are no real consequences as far as political aspirations.

We believe that the Elites will be pushing for this policy to hit the US. If you think this is impossible consider that Stiglitz openly called for the US to ban cash in the article above. Indeed, we’ve uncovered a secret document outlining how the Fed plans to ban physical cash and incinerate savings in the coming months.
