  • Europeans Seeking Independence From US by Boosting Military Spending – Scholar
    by https://sputniknews.com/
European countries have a choice whether or not to give in to Washington’s pressure, Pascal Boniface, director of the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS), told Sputnik, commenting on Donald Trump’s wrath at the recent NATO summit in Brussels.

“Trump’s statements did not go unnoticed, judging by the persistence with which he made them. NATO is closely connected to the United States,” Pascal Boniface, director of the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS), told Sputnik France. “In any case, the increase in military spending upon the demand of the US and NATO is accompanied by pressure, as we could see yesterday morning, in relation to Germany, for example.”

At the recent NATO summit in Brussels, which took place on July 11-12, US President Donald Trump reiterated his discontent with Washington’s European allies which have not met the 2 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) commitment.

“Presidents have been trying unsuccessfully for years to get Germany and other rich NATO Nations to pay more toward their protection from Russia. They pay only a fraction of their cost. The US pays tens of Billions of Dollars too much to subsidize Europe, and loses Big on Trade!” the US president tweeted on July 12, singling out Germany and stressing the necessity to increase the defense expenditures from 2 percent to 4 percent of GDP.

The Globalist Elite Fears Peace, Wants War

From: Vintage ‘Trees’ music video. All humanity forming a pyramid worshipping, welcoming the Satanic capstone! The Anti-Christ, the bringer of false peace, the white horseman of Revelation 6 ! The completion of the New World Order project, in a world wrecked by global wars, collapse and chaos!

http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation+6%3A2&version=NKJV

  • The global elites are Luciferian-Satanists. They want war to prepare the way for the coming of the Anti-Christ – the bringer of false peace, the white horseman of Revelation 6 who will conquer the world with peace in a world wrecked by global wars. (Trump is complicating their plans.)
  • The Globalist Elite Fears Peace, Wants War
    by FEDERICO PIERACCINI, https://www.strategic-culture.org/
The announced meeting between Trump and Putin has already produced a good result by revealing the hypocrisy of the media and politicians. The meeting has been branded as the greatest danger to humanity, according to the Western globalist elite, because of the danger that “peace could break out between Russia and the United States”.

Sometimes reality is stranger than fiction. The following so stretches credulity that sources will have to be cited and an exact quotations given to be believed.

A case in point is the following title“Fears growing over the prospect of Trump ‘peace deal’ with Putin”. The Times does not here fear a military escalation in Ukraine, an armed clash in Syria, a false-flag poisoning in England, or a new Cold War. The Times does not fear a nuclear apocalypse, the end of humanity, the suffering of hundreds of millions of people. No, one of the most authoritative and respected broadsheets in the world is fearful of the prospect of peace! The Times is afraid that the heads of two nuclear-armed superpowers are able to talk to each other. The Times fears that Putin and Trump will be able to come to some kind of agreement that can help avert the danger of a global catastrophe. These are the times in which we live. And this is the type of media we deal with. The problem with The Times is that it forms public opinion in the worst possible way, confusing, deceiving, and disorienting its readers. It is not by accident the world in which we live is increasingly divorced from logic and rationality.

Even if the outcome of this meeting does not see any substantial progress, the most important thing to be achieved will be the dialogue between the two leaders and the opening of negotiation channels for both sides.

In The Times article, it is assumed that Trump and Putin want to reach an agreement regarding Europe. The insinuation is that Putin is manipulating Trump in order to destabilize Europe. For years now we have been inundated with such fabrications by the media on behalf of their editors and shareholders, all part of the deep state conglomerate. Facts have in fact proven that Putin has always desired a strong and united Europe, looking to integrate Europe into the Eurasian dream. Putin and Xi Jinping would like to see a European Union more resistant to American pressure and able to gain greater independence. The combination of mass migration and sanctions against Russia and Iran, which end up hurting Europeans, opens the way for alternative parties that are not necessarily willing to Washington’s marching orders.

Is a Coming NATO Crisis Inevitable?

  • Is a Coming NATO Crisis Inevitable?
    by Patrick J. Buchanan, http://buchanan.org/blog/
Of President Donald Trump’s explosion at Angela Merkel’s Germany during the NATO summit, it needs to be said: It is long past time we raised our voices.

America pays more for NATO, an alliance created 69 years ago to defend Europe, than do the Europeans. And as Europe free-rides off our defense effort, the EU runs trade surpluses at our expense that exceed $100 billion a year.

To Trump, and not only to him, we are being used, gouged, by rich nations we defend, while they skimp on their own defense. At Brussels, Trump had a new beef with the Germans, though similar problems date back to the Reagan era. Now we see the Germans, Trump raged, whom we are protecting from Russia, collaborating with Russia and deepening their dependence on Russian natural gas by jointly building the Nord Stream 2 pipeline under the Baltic Sea. When completed, this pipeline will leave Germany and Europe even more deeply reliant on Russia for their energy needs.

To Trump, this makes no sense. While we pay the lion’s share of the cost of Germany’s defense, Germany, he said in Brussels, is becoming “a captive of Russia.” Impolitic? Perhaps. But is Trump wrong? While much of what he says enrages Western elites, does not much of it need saying?

US Has Used NATO to Maintain Hegemony Over Europe: Analyst

  • PressTV Published on Jul 13, 2018
The NATO military alliance has helped the United States to maintain its dominance over Europe’s security and international affairs and keep the continent under its hegemony, long after the Cold War, an American analyst says. “Traditionally, ever since the NATO alliance was created back in the 1940s, the United States has essentially covered most of the cost in return for Europe’s deference to Washington with regards to international geo-political interests,” said Keith Preston, chief editor of AttacktheSystem.com. “The arraignment is that the United States essentially provides for the military defense of Europe and then Europe is expected to be deferent to the foreign policy objectives of the United States,” Preston told Press TV on Thursday. “They [US] like the fact that they are able to use the relationship between NATO and Europe to essentially exercise hegemony over Europe and the European nations are largely satellite states of the United States in this regard,” he added.

US Forces EU into Buying American LNG

  • PressTV Published on Jul 12, 2018
Russia accuses the United States of bullying Europe into buying American liquid natural gas. The Kremlin spokesman said President Donald Trump’s anti-Russia comments showed an escalation in the US campaign to talk down Russian gas supplies to Europe. Dmitry Peskov said the US objections to the new pipeline deal between Russia and Germany are unfair. On Wednesday, Trump criticized Germany for being what he called a captive of Russian energy. The US president also called on NATO member states to immediately do something about the matter.

Trump Says He ‘Thinks’ He Can Pull Out of NATO Without Congressional Approval

  • Trump Says He ‘Thinks’ He Can Pull Out of NATO Without Congressional Approval
    by https://www.rt.com/
Speaking with journalists at the NATO summit in Brussels, Donald Trump said he “thinks” he can pull out of NATO without congressional approval. The US president made the statement when asked if he had threatened to pull out of the alliance, and whether he thought he could do so without first consulting Congress. Trump ignored the first question, but on the second question, he said, “I think I can.”

According to Politico, Trump warned his allies behind closed doors that they would need to radically increase defense spending or the US “will do our own thing.”NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg then reportedly shifted the meeting to an allies-only emergency session, requiring European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to leave the room.

After the emergency session, Trump said that the alliance is “very unified, very strong, no problem.” He added that NATO allies had committed to increasing their defense spending to beyond two percent of GDP, and added that pulling out of the military alliance would therefore be “unnecessary.”

However, French President Emmanuel Macron denied Trump’s claim that all 29 member states pledged to increase spending beyond the two percent goal, and added that “President Trump never at any moment, either in public or in private, threatened to withdraw from NATO.”

At present, only five NATO member states – the US, UK, Greece, Estonia, and Poland – allocate two percent of their GDP to defense spending, a requirement for membership. In 2017, the US spent $686 billion on defense, over double the expenditure of all 28 other states combined.

The discrepancy in funding has been a constant source of chagrin for Trump, who has accused the other member states of not pulling their weight. In the run-up to this year’s summit, the president singled out Germany, which spends only 1.2 percent of its GDP on defense.

Voicing his frustrations via Twitter on Thursday morning, Trump said that previous US presidents have been lobbying Germany to increase defense expenditure for years, as the US continues to foot the bill for defense against a perceived Russian threat.

Stoltenberg, Macron Insist on 2% GDP Defense Spending After Trump’s Push to Double It, Contradicting Trump

  • Stoltenberg, Macron Insist on 2% GDP Defense Spending After Trump’s Push to Double It
    by https://www.rt.com/
French President Emmanuel Macron has denied that NATO states agreed to increase defense spending beyond previous targets, pushing back on Donald Trump’s claim, earlier on Thursday, that the alliance agreed to more ambitious plans.

Commenting on the outcome of the two-day NATO summit, the French president said that the allies were sticking with an agreement reached in 2014, which calls for all states to spend 2 percent of their GDP on defense.

“Everyone agreed to raise spending as they agreed in 2014, and everyone agreed to respect the commitments they made. We reaffirmed a credible budget strategy that meets our needs,”
Macron told journalists. The French president also criticized Trump’s suggestion that the target for NATO members’ defense spending should be raised from two to four percent of GDP.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel made a similar statement, while leaving the door open to the possibility of a new target down the road.

“We’ll have to talk about to what extent we can do more on defense. We presented the current situation. But considering the discussion among the European allies, not only the Americans, I think we need to ask ourselves consistently what more we can do,”
     she said.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg later told CNN that member states reaffirmed their commitment to the two percent of GDP target. He emphasized that NATO states should strive to invest more in defense, but stopped short of confirming Trump’s claim that the alliance had agreed to the four percent goal.
