5 Times Corporate Media Got Caught Publishing Fake News Causing the Death & Suffering of Millions

MSM-corporate-media-mind-control-propaganda

  • 5 Times Corporate Media Got Caught Publishing Fake News Causing the Death & Suffering of Millions
    by Claire Bernish, http://thefreethoughtproject.com/
A now-notorious list of ostensibly “fake” news sites — created by a liberal professor, seemingly out of thin air — spread like wildfire online in the past two days and was eagerly reprinted by corporate media presstitutes hoping to vindicate their own failed reporting on the 2016 election.

But branding perfectly legitimate outlets with the same scarlet letter as those devoid of integrity deemed the professor’s list a spurious attempt to defame alternative and independent media — anyone dissenting from the left’s mainstream narrative — as a whole.

This is, in no uncertain terms, a hit list — or, at least, a laughable attempt — and it fits conveniently into the establishment’s burgeoning war on independent media disguised as a battle against fake news.

When corporate media outlets from the Independent and Business Insider, to the Los Angeles Times and NYMag scrambled over one another to reprint this irresponsibly contrived hit list, they proved yet again a lack of journalistic integrity — the same issue that originally caused regular subscribers to abandon them in the first place.

Indeed, in this otherwise unknown professor’s foray into the world of journalism, a glaring mistake was made — the only mainstream outlets making the list were those who had heralded Bernie Sanders as the best candidate for the White House. Such an obvious attempt to control thought could only be conjured in a totalitarian regime.

In fact, failing to place the exact corporate media organizations on the list, who for nearly a year praised fealty only to Hillary Clinton — and for decades have foisted on the public countless mendacious whoppers — constitutes a comedic lack of honesty. So, to bring that irony front and center, it’s imperative to examine some mainstream lies — most of which had appalling consequences — including the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people in the United States and around the world.

    1. George W. Bush’s Weapons of Mass Destruction
President George W. Bush decided to unleash the full force of the U.S. military upon the world in a new policy of war writ large disguised as a war on terrorism following the attacks of September 11, 2001. First arbitrarily designating Afghanistan as its primary victim due to the supposed identities of the attackers, Bush then chose Iraq to feel the wrath, and set out to invade the country following dubious claims Saddam Hussein harbored destructive chemical and biological weapons and was actively seeking far stronger munitions.

“Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised,”
the president asserted in a public address on March 17, 2003. “This regime has already used weapons of mass destruction against Iraq’s neighbors and against Iraq’s people.”

Bush’s assertions were questioned by not only human rights experts, but by U.N. weapons inspectors and countless others — so shortly after the U.S. invaded the sovereign nation, the New York Times took up the slack to fill in the appropriate casus belli.

Iraq Threatens Turkey With War After Erdogan Deploys Tanks To Iraqi Border

  • Iraq Threatens Turkey With War After Erdogan Deploys Tanks To Iraqi Border
    by Tyler Durden, http://www.zerohedge.com
In the latest provocation between Turkey and Iraq, the Turkish military begun deploying tanks and other armored vehicles to the town of Silopi near the Iraqi border, in a move the defense minister said on Tuesday was related to the fight against terrorism and developments across the border.

As a reminder, Iraq had previously slammed the presence of Turkish troops on its territory, when on October 5 Baghdad warned of “regional war” if Turkey does not withdraw its force.

That threat, however, was lost on the Turkish defense minister, Fikri Isik who said Turkey had “no obligation” to wait behind its borders and would do what was necessary if Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants took a foothold in northwest Iraq’s Sinjar region, around 115 km (71 miles) south of Silopi. “We will not allow the threat to Turkey to increase,” he told broadcaster A Haber in an interview.

Is a War in the Making — A Third World War? Instigated by a Declining Imperial Power

WW3 is near?

WW3 is near?

  • Is a War in the Making — A Third World War? Instigated by a Declining Imperial Power
    by Chandra Muzaffar, http://www.globalresearch.ca/
Is a war in the making — a third world war?
If there is much talk about such a possibility, it is mainly because of the tensions between the United States and Russia. Tensions between the two most powerful nuclear states in the world have never been this high since the end of the Cold War in 1989 and the demise of the Soviet Union in 1991.

There are at least two flash points, one more dangerous than the other. In Eastern Ukraine, Russian backed rebels will not surrender to the US supported regime in Kiev because they see US control over Ukraine as part of a much larger agenda to expand NATO power to the very borders of Russia. This has been happening for some years now.

But it is the Washington-Moscow confrontation in Allepo, Syria which portends to a huge conflagration. The US is protective of major militant groups such as Al-Nusra which has besieged Eastern Allepo  and is seeking to overthrow the Bashar al-Assad government. Washington has also set its sight on ‘regime change’ in Damascus ever since the latter’s determined resistance to Israeli occupation of the strategic Golan Heights in Syria from 1967 onwards. The drive for regime change intensified with the US-Israeli quest for a “new Middle East” following the Anglo-American invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003. It became more pronounced in 2009 when Bashar al-Assad rejected a proposal to allow a gas pipe-line from Qatar to Europe to pass through his country, a pipe-line which would have reduced Europe’s dependence upon Russia for gas. Russia of course has been a long-standing ally of Syria. Together with Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah, it is helping the Syrian government to break the siege of Eastern Allepo and to defeat militants in other parts of Syria.

It is obvious that in both instances, in Ukraine and Syria, the US has not been able to achieve what it wants. The US has also been stymied in Southeast Asia where its attempt to re-assert its power through its 2010 ‘Pivot to Asia’ policy has suffered a serious setback as a result of the decision of the new president  of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte, to pursue an independent foreign policy that no longer adheres blindly to US interests. At the same time, China continues to expand and enhance its economic strength in Asia and the world through its One Belt One Road (OBOR) projects and the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) and via its leadership of BRICS. China’s regional and global economic role is leading to its pronounced presence in security and military matters. As a result of all this, the US’s imperial power has clearly diminished. It is a hegemon in decline.

Turkey Deploys Tanks to Silopi Across from Iraq

  • Not sure what the loose cannon Erdogan is doing. Getting to be pretty confusing.
  • Turkey Deploys Tanks to Silopi Across from Iraq
    by http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/
Turkish Armed Forces have begun deploying tanks and other armored vehicles from the Ankara-based 28th Mechanized Infantry Brigade to Silopi in Şırnak near the border with Iraq, Anadolu Agency reported Nov. 1, three days after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said the country would reinforce its troops along its border.

“We have to be ready for any possibility,” Turkish Defense Minister Fikri Işık said on Nov. 1, recalling the fight against the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and “significant developments on the other side of the Turkish border.”

The deployment is designed to be ready for these developments, he stated. Turkey will reinforce its troop deployments in the border town of Silopi amid a possible Shiite offensive to liberate Tal Afar, which has a sizeable ethnic Turkmen population and is considered a sensitive target for Ankara, Erdoğan had said.

“If al-Hashd al-Shaabi [Shiite militia] causes terror there in [Tal Afar], our response to it will be different,” Erdoğan said Oct. 29.

The deployment coincides with an Iraqi operation to drive Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) from the northern Iraqi city of Mosul and after Iraqi Shiite militias launched a related offensive to push the jihadists out of the town of Tal Afar further west.

The al-Hashd al-Shaabi, a paramilitary umbrella organization by Iran-backed Shiite militias, announced on Oct. 29 that they had launched an attack against ISIL militants west of Mosul, two weeks after an offensive to retake the city began.

“The operation aims to cut supplies between Mosul and Raqqa and tighten the siege [of ISIL] in Mosul and liberate Tal Afar,” militia spokesman Ahmed al-Assadi told AFP Oct. 29, referring to ISIL’s main strongholds in Iraq and Syria. Al-Assadi said the operation aimed to retake the towns of Hatra and Tal Abta as well as Tal Afar.

Ankara has warned against such a move towards Tal Afar, which is some 170 kilometers from Silopi and home to a sizeable ethnic Turkmen population with historic and cultural ties to Turkey. Şırnak province is also one of the main areas of conflict between the Turkish military and PKK militants, who have bases in northern Iraq. Turkey had reinforced its troops in the Karkamış district just before an offensive to retake Syria’s Jarablus from ISIL in late August within the scope of the Euphrates Shield Operation.

US Wants to Move Daesh(ISIS) from Mosul(Iraq) to Raqqah(Syria)

  • Published on Oct 28, 2016
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov says Moscow is working with Iraqi and American partners to prevent Daesh terrorists’ movement from the Iraqi city of Mosul to Syria. Lavrov made the remarks in a press conference with his Iranian and Syrian counterparts in Moscow. They pledged to expand their cooperation in fighting terrorism and extremism. For his part, Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Muallem said the US wants to move Daesh terrorists from Mosul to the terror group’s de facto capital in Syria, Raqqah. He stressed that the US-led coalition is not fighting Daesh but rather aims at destroying Syria’s infrastructure. Muallem also noted that Damascus has confidence in Moscow and Tehran’s efforts to resolve the Syria crisis. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said fighting terrorism needs a global political will.

Remember When the Media Sold Us the Iraq WMD Lies? It’s Happening Again

MSM-Weapons-of-mass-deception-media

  • Remember When the Media Sold Us the Iraq WMD Lies? It’s Happening Again
    by Alice Salles, http://theantimedia.org/
(ANTIMEDIA) Months before President George W. Bush’s speech on September 11, 2002, the New York Times reported at the time, White House officials confirmed the Bush administration had already been[planning its Iraq strategy] long before President Bush’s vacation in Texas” in August of that same year.

The strategy was to persuade the public and Congress that the United States and its allies should confront the “threat from Saddam Hussein.”

The now infamous 9/11 anniversary speech — and the speech before the United Nations following the anniversary remarks — both stressed the importance of “[ridding] the world of terror.” But before speaking to the United Nations, Bush made the clearest case for war.

Claimingour principles and our security are challenged today by outlaw groups and regimes that accept no law of morality and have no limit to their violent ambitions,” Bush presented his case against Iraq, claiming Hussein had only “contempt for the United Nations … [claiming] it had no biological weapons.

Making the case that Iraq had a clandestine “weapons program … producing tens of thousands of litres of anthrax and other deadly biological agents for use with Scud warheads, aerial bombs and aircraft spray tanks,” Bush and his administration sold the invasion of Iraq with lies.

How the Bush Administration and the Media Sold the Iraq War
In 2003, Bush’s secretary of state, Colin Powell, laid out Bush’s rationale for war in Iraq, saying Iraq had been given several chances to “comply” with U.N. resolutions regarding the country’s possession of weapons of mass destruction.

He added that America had “proof” the Hussein regime had “evacuated” — not destroyed — its weapons, adding that the U.S. government had “satellite photos that indicate[d] that banned materials [had] recently been moved from a number of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction facilities.” But what the media then failed to dig into was how the evidence presented by Powell had been introduced in a way that helped the administration make the case for war, even as Powell himself knew— or at least seemed to know — that there was a possibility they were putting “half a million troops in Iraq and march[ing] from one end of the country to the other [to] find nothing.”

On the day Powell delivered his speech, then-CIA operations officer Valerie Plame Wilson noticed his claims “simply did not match the intelligence which she had worked on daily for months.”

Sergei Rudskoi of the military’s General Staff said more than 60 civilians have been killed and 200 wounded in such strikes over the past three days. Rudskoi said a U.S. jet struck a school for girls on Friday in the southern part of Mosul, and airstrikes targeted residential areas in several cities near Mosul over the weekend. The Russian military official noted that Daesh terrorists continue moving from Iraq to Syria while around 300 terrorists have already arrived in the city of Dayr al-Zawr from Mosul.

US-Led Coalition Destroys Infrastructure in Syria, Attacks Civilians And Supports Daesh-ISIS Terrorists

  • US-Led Coalition Destroys Infrastructure in Syria, Attacks Civilians And Supports Daesh-ISIS Terrorists
    by https://sputniknews.com/
The US-led coalition systematically destroys infrastructure in Syria and carries out airstrikes against civilians and the Syrian army, Russian envoy to the UN office in Geneva Alexei Borodavkin said at a special session of the UN Human Rights Council on Friday.

“While hysteria is being whipped up around Aleppo, the US-led coalition has been systematically destroying infrastructure in government-controlled areas, delivering crushing strikes to civilians and the Syrian Army, and now seems to intend to squeeze Daesh terrorists from [the Iraqi city of] Mosul into Syria,” he said.

The Iraqi government announced an operation to retake Mosul from Daesh, a group outlawed in Russia, on Monday and has been making rapid gains on several fronts. The US-led coalition supports the offensive. The Syrian Army claimed on Tuesday that the US and Saudi Arabia decided to allow Daesh terrorists pass into Syria from Mosul.

Borodavkin added that “certain countries continue placing stakes on terrorists and extremists, rendering them political and propaganda assistance, supplying them with arms and ammunition.”

In September, the US-led coalition attacked the Syrian Army in Deir ez-Zor. The airstrikes by the coalition planes near the Deir ez-Zor airport were first reported by the Syrian troops. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the attacks. The US Central Command said that the Syrian forces were mistaken for Daesh terrorists. The attack killed more than 80 soldiers.

Syria has been mired in civil war since 2011, with government forces loyal to President Assad fighting numerous opposition groups and terrorist organizations such as Daesh and al-Nusra Front.

Since the war’s beginning it has claimed lives of thousands of people and displaced millions more. The international community has undertaken steps to end the Syrian conflict and to solve the humanitarian crisis in the Middle Eastern country.
