Question 1. Daniel S: what becomes the value of your holdings in precious metals if currency becomes entirely digital, no more banknotes – and therefore totally out of one’s control?
Question 2. Matthew B: In a SHTF scenario or in a Reset of the financial system would it be better to use the Silver American Eagles or Sunshine rounds?
Question 3. Gina Groot: why is everybody thinking it will be a hard crash? Is it also possible that it will be a soft transition like when they introduced the Euro?
Question 4. Randseed Bin: There seems to be a rise in the number of counterfeit coins (mostly from China) in very realistic and legitimate looking slabs. Sometimes the slabs are real and the coin inside is replaced. How do you test a coin for authenticity when it’s sealed up like that?
Question 5. Laura K: If the world Governments and Central Banks own most of the Gold can they dictate the price of the Gold?

We Have A Deal: Trump And Juncker Agree To Avert A Trade War

  • We Have A Deal: Trump And Juncker Agree To Avert A Trade War
    by Tyler Durden, https://www.zerohedge.com/
Summary: so we have a deal, maybe. Trump and Juncker reached a deal to avert a transatlantic trade war, ease tensions stoked by Trump’s threat and impose tariffs on car imports.

The two leaders agreed to expand European imports of U.S. liquified natural gas and soybeans and lower industrial tariffs on both sides, Trump said. The U.S. and European Union will “hold off on other tariffs” while negotiations proceed, Juncker added.

“We had a big day, very big,” Trump said during the joint statement with Juncker at the White House Wednesday. He hailed “a new phase” of trade relations. The two leaders also said they would work toward “zero” tariffs on industrial goods, Bloomberg reported and added that they would try to “resolve” steel and aluminum tariffs he imposed earlier this year and retaliatory duties the EU levied in response.

The EU and US also agreed to launch new negotiations aimed at defusing rising transatlantic trade tensions: the two leaders said they had agreed to work together towards eliminating all tariffs, trade barriers and subsidies related to non-auto industrial goods. They also said they would work together to reform the World Trade Organization and reduce trading costs and regulatory barriers across the Atlantic.

There was no questions allowed after the press conference, which followed a three hour meeting between Trump and Juncker. Juncker had came to Washington for a last-ditch bid to avoid U.S. tariffs on cars, although there was no explicit agreement reached on that particular topic.

Earlier in the day, Trump was said to be considering to slap 25% tariffs on as much as $200BN in foreign cars (in 2017, the total value of imported cars was just under $200BN).

Ex-UK Diplomat: Israel Has Record of ‘Lying’ About Combat Engagements

  • Ex-UK Diplomat: Israel Has Record of ‘Lying’ About Combat Engagements
    by https://sputniknews.com/
The IDF claims it shot down a Syrian Sukhoi warplane that violated its airspace on Tuesday, a charge Damascus denies. Former UK Ambassador to Syria Peter Ford joined Loud & Clear to discuss.

“It was shot down, and it crashed. We do not have any information so far about the pilots. I do not know of any reports of parachutes being spotted, and we do not know if any pilots have been retrieved,” IDF spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Jonathan Conricus said Tuesday.

Alex Gandler, press attache for Israel’s embassy in Russia, told Sputnik News that a communication line was used to prevent the possibility of shooting down a Russian-operated aircraft. While operated by the Syrian Army, the aircraft was Russian-made.

However, a Syrian military source told Sputnik News that the pilot of the jet, Omran Muri, died. The second pilot’s fate was unknown, however.

But the facts of the engagement are de-facto dubious, Ford said: “The Israelis have a track record of lying about these things, not to put too fine an edge on it. Only yesterday they admitted they had lied about an earlier incident involving Syrian missiles.” Initially, Israel said that they tried to shoot down missiles fired from Syria over their territory, but later “admitted that was not true,” Ford noted, referring to the location of where Israel failed to take down the missiles.

“This game is going on on an almost-daily basis. It’s a sort of game of arm wrestling,” Ford said, adding that Israel is “squealing” over the presence of pro-Iranian militias near the Golan Heights, which are illegally occupied by Israel. Despite a push in US Congress to recognize the area as belonging to Israel, it is recognized internationally as “Syrian territory,” Ford said.

In One Year, MSNBC Covered ‘Stormy Daniels’ 455 Times, ‘War In Yemen’ 0

Dead victims of the Drone in Ra’ada, Yemen! US Drone Genocide of 17 innocent people in Yemen al-baidaa-victims.

  • In One Year, MSNBC Covered ‘Stormy Daniels’ 455 Times, ‘War In Yemen’ 0
by Adam Johnson via FAIR.org , via https://www.zerohedge.com/
Why is the No. 1 outlet of alleged anti-Trump #resistance completely ignoring his most devastating war?

As FAIR has noted before (1/8/18, 3/20/18), to MSNBC, the carnage and destruction the US and its Gulf Monarchy allies are leveling against the poorest country in the Arab world is simply a non-issue.

On July 2, a year had passed since the cable network’s last segment mentioning US participation in the war on Yemen, which has killed in excess of 15,000 people and resulted in over a million cases of cholera.
The US is backing a Saudi-led bombing campaign with intelligence, refueling, political cover, military hardware and, as of March, ground troops. None of this matters at all to what Adweek (4/3/18) calls “the network of the Resistance,” which has since its last mention of the US’s role in the destruction of Yemen found time to run over a dozen segments highlighting war crimes committed by the Syrian and Russian governments in Syria.

By way of contrast, as MSNBC was marking a year without mentioning the US role in Yemen, the PBS NewsHour was running a three-part series on the war, with the second part (7/3/18) headlined, “American-Made Bombs in Yemen Are Killing Civilians, Destroying Infrastructure and Fueling Anger at the US.” The NewsHour’s Jane Ferguson reported:

PBS NewsHour (7/3/18) examining the remains of US-made cluster bombs in Yemen.

“The aerial bombing campaign has not managed to dislodge the rebels, but has hit weddings, hospitals and homes. The US military supports the Saudi coalition with logistics and intelligence. The United States it also sells the Saudis and coalition partners many of the bombs they drop on Yemen.”

MSNBC chat show/Starbucks commercial Morning Joe did run one segment (4/25/18) that vaguely mentioned the war on Yemen, but failed to note the US’s role in it at all, much less that Washington is arming and backing the conflict’s primary aggressor. Instead, they did the perverse inversion––previously mastered by Washington Post’s Jackson Diehl (FAIR.org, 6/27/17)—of not only ignoring the US’s major role in killing thousands, but painting the US as a noble haven for refugees. The schlocky segment, an interview with writer Mohammed Al Samawi, was a shallow mixture of “interfaith” pablum, poverty porn and self-congratulations to the US for taking in refugees (without, of course, acknowledging that they’re seeking refuge from a crisis the US has created).

For a bit more context, in the time period of July 3, 2017, to July 3, 2018, MSNBC dedicated zero segments to the US’s war in Yemen, but 455 segments to Stormy Daniels
This isn’t to suggest the Stormy Daniels matter isn’t newsworthy—presidential corruption is per se important. But one has to wonder if this particular thread of venality is 455 stories more important than Trump aggressively supporting a war that’s killing hundreds of people a month, injuring thousands, and subjecting millions to famine and cholera. Did MSNBC editors, poring over the latest academic foreign policy literature, really come to the conclusion Trump’s war in Yemen isn’t important? Or is MSNBC simply fueled by partisan Russia dot-connecting and stories that allow them to say “porn star” as much as possible?

If U.S. Television Showed ‘Killing Gaza,’ Support for Israel Would Start to Shrink

  • If U.S. Television Showed ‘Killing Gaza,’ Support for Israel Would Start to Shrink
    by , https://mondoweiss.net/
If documentary films like “Killing Gaza” appeared regularly on American television, public opinion would start turning against Israel overnight. The film, just released by Dan Cohen and Max Blumenthal, is inspiring and sickening. It is being screened at special showings, but has not yet been released to theaters. Fortunately, you can download it here.

Cohen and Blumenthal arrived in Gaza on August 15, 2014, during a brief ceasefire in Israel’s savage air and land assault on the besieged territory. Visitors to this site will recall Cohen’s powerful posts and photographs at the time, and in 2015 Blumenthal published an indispensable book,The 51 Day War: Ruin and Resistance in Gaza.

“Killing Gaza” is a strong addition to their previous work. In the background are scenes of mass destruction, like a Mediterranean version of Berlin in 1945. But the heart of the film are interviews with more than 30 individual Gazans, shown in all their humanity, who are given a chance to speak for themselves in ways that you will never encounter in the U.S. mainstream. The two reporters ranged across the open air prison territory, listening to witnesses and survivors at a half dozen different locations. Then Cohen was able to return several times over a two-year period, following up with the subjects, until Israel stopped him from coming.

Some of the most excruciating footage is from early in the film. Joe Catron, the longtime American activist in Gaza, was an eyewitness, and he narrates how a group of human rights workers tried to use an Israeli ceasefire to look for survivors in the rubble of the Shujaiya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Israeli snipers broke the ceasefire, and you can actually watch as they murder 23-year-old Salem Shamaly, right in front of rescuers. Shamaly is wounded; he cries out for help; but it’s far too dangerous to risk more deaths. His body stayed out in the hot sun for 7 days before it was safe to recover him. You then see his family members, who are nearly speechless with pain over his murder. At the end of the film, you are not surprised to learn that Shamaly’s little brother, Wassin, who looks like he’s 12 years old, promises to avenge his death.

Cohen and Blumenthal also filmed witnesses in Khuza’a, in southeastern Gaza. Hani Najjar show them the interior of his house, in which Israeli troops murdered 6 people, some (apparently) with knives. And you hear how Israeli soldiers cornered a 98-year-old man who was too frail to flee. “They started cheering like they had caught their prey,” he says, and then he demonstrates how the soldiers beat him. The apologists for Israel who claim that film of human rights abuses is manufactured in “Pallywood” studios should be forced to sit through this sequence.

The two filmmakers were themselves eyewitnesses to Israel’s final aerial bombardment of the 2014 attack, on Gaza City. They report that the multi-story buildings we see being obliterated “by American-made bunker buster bombs” are middle-class housing developments, not military targets by any stretch of the imagination. A young man stands in front of the rubble of his former apartment home and says: “There are many baffling things, like the world’s silence. Even the human rights groups are turning a blind eye. They call for animal rights, but there are no human rights.”

“Killing Gaza” is long — 1 hour, 37 minutes — because it has to be; it includes footage we will see nowhere else. When it ends, you wonder how anyone in Israel or among its supporters elsewhere could ever expect that the people of Gaza will stop fighting for their human rights.

Trump Tweets War Warning, Pompeo Wants Regime Change: US Iran Attack Coming Soon?

President Trump sent out an angry, all-caps, Tweet last night, warning Iran that it would suffer “consequences the likes of which few throughout history have ever suffered before” if it threatens the United States. This came after Iranian president Rouhani said that peace with Iran would be the “mother of all peace” but war would be the “mother of all war.” Secretary of State Pompeo also joined in, announcing a new US government propaganda media outlet aiming to push Iranians toward regime change and calling the country’s leaders “mafia-like.” Well-funded neocon think tanks in Washington like the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies are dedicated to war with Iran. Will they succeed?

Huge Underground Lake Found On Mars, Raising The Possibility Of Life

  • Underground lake found on Mars, raising possibility of life
    by Will Dunham, https://www.reuters.com/
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Using a radar instrument on an orbiting spacecraft, scientists have spotted what they said on Wednesday appears to be a sizable salt-laden lake under ice on the southern polar plain of Mars, a body of water they called a possible habitat for microbial life.

The reservoir they detected — roughly 12 miles (20 km) in diameter, shaped like a rounded triangle and located about a mile (1.5 km) beneath the ice surface — represents the first stable body of liquid water ever found on Mars.

Whether anywhere other than Earth has harbored life is one of the supreme questions in science, and the new findings offer tantalizing evidence, though no proof. Water is considered a fundamental ingredient for life.

The researchers said it could take years to verify whether something is actually living in this body of water that resembles a subglacial lake on Earth, perhaps with a future mission drilling through the ice to sample the water below.

“This is the place on Mars where you have something that most resembles a habitat, a place where life could subsist,” said planetary scientist Roberto Orosei of Istituto Nazionale di Astrofisica in Italy, who led the research published in the journal Science.

“This kind of environment is not exactly your ideal vacation, or a place where fish would swim,” Orosei added. “But there are terrestrial organisms that can survive and thrive, in fact, in similar environments. There are microorganisms on Earth that are capable of surviving even in ice.”

Chris Martenson: Wealth Transfer Coming Real Assets Needed

  • When Credit Cycles Blow Up, They’re Really Destructive – Chris Martenson
    by Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com
Futurist and economic researcher Chris Martenson says we are not at the end of a business cycle but “. . . at the end of a credit cycle.” Martenson warns, “Here’s why people need to be concerned. Credit cycles, when they blow up, are really, really destructive. 2008 to 2009 was very destructive. Instead of realizing the error of their ways, they went for a third. This is the most comprehensive credit cycle that we have seen. Remember, bubbles have two things that they need. Number one, a good story that people can believe in and, of course, it’s a false story. Number two, ample credit. That’s what the Fed and central banks of Japan and Europe have done. They just flooded the world with credit. Now, we have bubbles everywhere. When these burst, it will be the worst bursting in anybody’s lifetime because we have never seen anything like this.”

Martenson says a debt reset is locked in, and somebody is going to pay.   Martenson explains, “When you have as much debt that the United States has . . . the overall debt level in the United States, including auto loans, mortgages, consumer debt, student loans and corporate debt and whatever, we’re sitting at about $60 trillion right now. It’s a huge number, and when you get to this level of indebtedness, plus those unfunded or underfunded liabilities . . . when you get to this level of indebtedness, there is really only one question left to be resolved, and that is who is going to eat the losses. That’s it. So, when you start asking that question, the banks and people writing the laws are pretty sure they are not going to take the losses. The person relying on the pension is the person that is going to eat the losses. . . . There is no way to make this work. Here’s where the social tension comes in. Even as ordinary middle class people are being destroyed in this process, the rich are taking more and more out of the system. That is courtesy of the policies of the Federal Reserve. . . . But the big risk is when these printing sprees, these credit cycles finally burst. They are wildly destructive. They are fast. They are hard. They are sharp and they hurt.”
