The Debate: Al-Aqsa (Temple Mount) Tensions

  • Published on Jul 20, 2017
“The situation will explode and all the possibilities are open. And don’t say we didn’t tell you.” That was the warning to Israel about its new restrictive measures by Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, the spiritual leader of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, after he was hit by an Israeli rubber bullet. This comes as Friday promises to be a day of rage, with a Palestinian boycott of Al-Aqsa continuing because of Israeli measures. Israeli groups seeking to take-over Al-Aqsa are giddy at the possibility these Israeli moves have presented to them. The world through UNESCO, though, has nullified Israeli claims to Al-Quds, confirming Palestinian heritage.
