Iran to Confront Trespassing Vessels in Persian Gulf (ie. USA)
Published on Aug 25, 2016
The Iranian defense minister says the country will confront any foreign vessel that trespasses into its territorial waters. Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan said Iranian speedboats constantly monitor the developments and foreign vessels’ movements in the Persian Gulf. Dehqan added if any vessel enters Iran’s waters it will be warned and if the move is deemed an act of aggression, Iranian naval forces will confront the trespasser. Dehqan’s comments come hours after Pentagon officials claimed Iranian speedboats harassed a US warship in the Strait of Hormuz. They said Iranian boats sped close to two US Navy destroyers with their weapons uncovered in a Quote unsafe and unprofessional way.
