Israel Strikes Syrian Targets in Golan Heights
Published on Aug 22, 2016
The Israeli military has carried out an air strike targeting positions belonging to the Syrian army in the Golan Heights region. The Israeli army claims the strike was in response to a stray fire that landed in the occupied Golan Heights. The army says no body was injured in the incident. Last month, israeli forces hit two Syrian army targets in Golan citing similar accusations. Israel seized parts of Golan from Syria after the 1967 war and later occupied them in a move that has never been recognized by the international community.
