China’s Navy Conducts Drills in Sea of Japan

    China says it has carried out drills in the Sea of Japan, a body of water the country has no border with. Beijing says the exercises were part of annual training arrangements and were done in accordance with international law. It didn’t mention where exactly the drills were conducted, but stated that they took place in international waters. China has beefed up military drills in waters far from its shores. The country says such exercises are not aimed at any country or region and are only done to hone operational skills of its navy.
