Israel Jets Bomb Positions in Syria’s Golan Heights
Published on Jul 25, 2016
Israeli army says its fighter jets have launched airstrikes on positions in Syria’s Golan Heights. The army said it attacked two Syrian targets after shells were fired from Syria into the Israeli-occupied side of the Golan Heights. Tensions have flared up in the region since a grenade explosion left two Israeli soldiers dead in Golan earlier this month. Israel illegally occupied the Golan Heights in 1967, and has defied international calls to leave the mountainous region which is part of the Syrian territory.
