  Russia will not allow the Libyan scenario to be repeated in Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated today in Moscow, RIA Novosti reported.

  “We’ll not allow the Libyan experience to be reproduced in Syria. Unfortunately, our Western partners have departed from the Geneva accords and are seeking the departure of [Syrian President] Bashar al-Assad,” Lavrov said, while adding that Russia was not clinging to any individual leaders in Syria.

  Russia and China vetoed a Western-backed UN resolution on Syria on July 19, because of fears that it would lead to a foreign military intervention in Syria, as it had in Libya. Russia said it has no special interest in seeing Assad remain in power, but that the “Syrian people” should decide that.

  A large number of Western countries have tried to persuade Russia to authorize a military operation, but Russia has called this preparation for a “Libyan scenario.” In October 2011, after a months-long military standoff, rebels ousted and murdered head of state Qaddafi with the help of NATO. Russia did not use its veto power in the UN Security Council to block the intervention into Libya, which started under the pretext of protecting civilians there. Lavrov said that his meeting with UN Mediator Brahimi and Hillary Clinton in Geneva this week was not an acknowledgement that Assad would fall: “We are not holding talks about Assad’s fate. And all attempts to present the situation in any other way are unscrupulous.”

The very organizations now proven to have led the 9/11/12 attacks—Ansar al-Sharia and the Libyan Shield—were chief American combat allies in the drive to overthrow Qaddafi.  And after Libyan Shield members executed Qaddafi, they were given authority to run security affairs in eastern Libya.

  The last signed diplomatic cable from Ambassador Stevens back to the State Department in Washington described a tense Sept. 9, 2012 meeting in Benghazi between U.S. security officials and a leader of Libyan Shield, Wissam bin Hamid, in which the Libyan threatened to lift all security protection for American diplomats unless the candidate of the Libyan Muslim Brotherhood was the winner in the upcoming election for prime minister.  Bin Hamid fought against American forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan before returning to the Benghazi-Derna area of eastern Libya to “ally” with Washington to overthrow and execute Qaddafi.

  While claiming to have eliminated Al-Qaeda, the Obama administration has clearly adopted a policy of allying with the British-Saudi-controlled enemy. In overthrowing Qaddafi, the Obama administration allied directly with supporters of Al-Qaeda, who fought against the U.S. in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Those same Al-Qaeda forces in Libya who murdered U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans in Benghazi, have now gone from Libya to Syria to aid the Obama administration in overthrowing the government of Bashar al-Assad.

  A new French documentary reveals how last year’s Libyan rebellion was inspired by al-Qaeda and its founder Osama bin Laden. Filmmaker Kamal Redouani’s “The Arab Spring: Springboard for Radicals?” was first aired in late October on the French pay channel Canal+ and was recently rebroadcast by the Belgian public broadcaster RTBF. As part of the film, Redouani traveled to the Libyan city of Derna, some 150 miles east of Benghazi. Derna was in many ways the military epicenter of the rebellion against Qaddafi. It was in Derna that a leading rebel commander Abdul-Hakim al Hasadi assembled a battalion of some thousand rebels fighters. According to Redouani, Derna is today run by al-Hasadi and his family. Redouani was accompanied into town by Ahmed al-Hasadi, one of Abdul-Hakim’s brothers, who explained to Redouani that the population of Derna is the “cradle of jihad.”

  It should also be noted that Abu Sufian bin Qumu, the leader of Ansar al-Sharia, the al-Qaeda-affiliated group reportedly responsible for the attack on the Benghazi mission on 9/11 2012, is also from Derna.

  Both al-Hasadi and bin Qumu were handed over by Pakistani authorities to the U.S. in 2001 after the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan. Hasadi was released to Libya two months later. Bin Qumu spent six years at Guantanamo Bay. In Libya both were imprisoned in the Abu Salim prison. In 2010, they were both released by Qaddafi as part of a reconcilation with Islamists in Libya. In 2011 bin Qumu became the leader of Ansar al-Sharia based in Derna. Both were instrumental in leading the Obama-backed rebellion against Qaddafi.

  Previously, bin Qumu worked for Osama bin Laden’s holding company in Sudan and later for an al-Qaeda-linked charity in Afghanistan. He was also the driver of Osama bin Laden.

  A 2007 study of al-Qaeda personnel records by the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point, found that Derna sent more foreign fighters to al-Qaeda in Iraq than any other city or town and far more in per-capita terms. In a March 2011 interview with the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore, Abdul-Hakim al-Hasadi admitted to having personally recruited many such fighters.

  According to John Rosenthal, author of a forthcoming book, “The Jihadist Plot: The Untold Story of Al-Qaida and the Libyan Rebellion,” as Redouani puts it, “the political and religious reference point for the al-Hasadi family is the founder of al-Qaida,” Osama bin Laden. The younger brother of Ahmed and Abdul-Hakim, Ashraf, told him that bin Laden was “an extraordinary person, a real jihadist and a real resistance fighter.” Ashraf noted that “without September 11, there would not have been any revolution in the Arab world.” In April 2011, the elder brother, Abdul-Hakim, told the French magazine Le Nouvel Observateur that bin Laden and current al-Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri “are great heroes of the Ummah [the Islamic community].” He said he never was “lucky enough” to fight alongside bin Laden, but he had frequently spent time with al-Zawahiri in Afghanistan.

  Washington Post claims “soldiers” were executed – terrorists in video clearly refer to victims as civilian “shabih.” Victims had no weapons, uniforms, or IDs indicating they were soldiers.

  An egregious war crime was reported on by the Washington Post, but deceitfully and purposefully spun and shrugged off. In the Post’s article, “Syrian rebels execute unarmed government soldiers; dozens killed in fighting,” it is first reported:

  Syrian rebels executed at least a half-dozen unarmed government soldiers Thursday after attacks on checkpoints near the town of Saraqeb in northwest Syria.

  Then:

  The execution of the soldiers, which was documented in a graphic video [GRAPHIC] posted online Thursday, is not the first time that rebel fighters appear to have committed war crimes. U.N. representatives and human rights organizations have repeatedly criticized the Syrian opposition in recent months for carrying out summary executions and for abusing detainees.

  The video clearly shows unarmed men, none of whom are wearing uniforms or equipment typical of “government soldiers.” The Washington Post then links to another video while reporting:

  A second video posted online Thursday [GRAPHIC], which appears to have been filmed shortly after the execution, shows at least three other bodies spread out around the checkpoint. The man filming approaches two of the bodies and says, “The shabiha of Assad, the dogs.”

  “Shabiha,” of course refers to alleged civilian militias organized locally to resist terrorists entering into and attempting to overrun neighborhoods. The term “shabiha” has been used by the Western media as a catch-all to spin any massacre committed against civilians by US-backed terrorists operating in Syria. That the murderers themselves, filming their own crime, refer to the victims as “shabiha” – indicates that civilians, not Syrian government forces, were murdered – contrary to what the Washington Post reported.

  The term suspected “shabiha” has become analogous of the Western media’s use of the term “African mercenaries” in Libya during NATO destabilization and regime change operations there in 2011. These “African mercenaries” were lynched, beheaded, shot, burned, and hacked to pieces, just as terrorists are  now doing to suspected “shabiha” across Syria.

  The Washington Post in its recent article, “U.S. looks to build alternative Syrian opposition leadership,” claims:

  The Obama administration has spent the past several months in secret diplomatic negotiations aimed at building a new Syrian opposition leadership structure that it hopes can win the support of minority groups still backing President Bashar al-Assad.

  The strategy, to be unveiled at a Syrian opposition meeting next week in Qatar, amounts to a last-ditch effort to prevent extremists from gaining the upper hand within the opposition and to stop the Syrian crisis from boiling over into the greater Middle East.
  -
  The Post also indicates that defacto “administrative zones” are being set up along the Turkish-Syrian border with “nonlethal” assistance provided by the United States, France and “other like-minded governments.” The so-called “Syrian National Council” is being discarded, as it is wholly seen as illegitimate by both Syrians and the world at large.

  The Washington Post would also quote Secretary Clinton:

  The SNC, Clinton said, should no longer be considered the “visible leader” of the opposition. “There has to be a representation of those who are on the front lines, fighting and dying today to obtain their freedom,” she said during an unrelated visit to the Balkan states. “. . . And we also need an opposition that will be on record strongly resisting the efforts by extremists to hijack the Syrian revolution.”

  It is clear that both the West’s political proxies, and its armed militant proxies have been compromised and the narrative that tentatively worked against Libya, is now unraveling and failing against Syria. While the US attempts to portray this latest move as an attempt to “prevent extremist elements from gaining the upper hand within the opposition,” it must be remembered that as early as 2007, US officials had admitted that efforts to overthrow the governments of Syria and Iran would include primarily US, Israeli, and Saudi armed extremists drawn from across the Arab World, and sent into Syria to create the very sectarian bloodbath now unfolding. Rhetoric of “freedom” and “democracy” serve merely as cover within which foreign military aggression is couched.

  Hurricane Sandy couldn’t have come at a worse time.  The U.S. economy appears to be contracting, and the fourth quarter holiday shopping season in the most populated area of the country has been interrupted.  Now, folks are more worried about pumping sewage laced water out of their towns than buying a new Apple iPod.  Money is going to be diverted to buy generators and paint, not electronics and clothing.  New York and New Jersey are two of the most indebted states in the union.  They have a combined $600 billion in debt.  There is no wonder why both Governor Christy and Governor Cuomo are asking the Federal government to pick up 100% of the tab of rebuilding the infrastructure.  There will be many who will find out homeowners policies are not covering flood damage.  The cost has been estimated to be around $50 billion.  Hurricane Katrina cost more than $100 billion, and it is far less populated than the Northeast coast.  My sources say when all is said and done, the tab will exceed $200 billion.  This is a giant drag on the fourth quarter in a very weak economy.  There will be winners and losers in the retail sector.  Expect some of the losers to go bankrupt.

  Meanwhile, the U.S. is going to hit the $16.39 trillion debt ceiling.  More money printing will be needed to rebuild.  The only question I have is what straw will finally break the back of the U.S. dollar and bond market.  Once again, the debt ceiling will be raised, but will the ratings agencies cut U.S. debt again?  We will see.

  Finally, the Libya 9/11/12 attack is not going away.  There are charges of a White House cover-up.  Reports and emails are being uncovered that say the Obama administration knew there was a serious problem with al-Qaeda and did nothing.  There are charges that help was repeatedly requested, only to be denied.  Who gave the stand-down order? There are reports that there was a live video feed into our national security centers, and they stood by and let four Americans die, including a U.S. Ambassador.  I saw a billboard posted on the internet recently that said the words “Obama” and “Coward.”  We will not have all the answers before Election Day, but the truth will come out and I suspect it will be very ugly.

  A senior U.S. intelligence source reported Tuesday that, while an Israeli attack on Iran or an eruption of a Syria-Turkey border war cannot be ruled out between now and election day, the most likely “October Surprise” is a U.S. bombing or special forces attack on a target responsible for the Benghazi consulate assault. The source reported that the U.S. is engaged in an intense hunt for a credible target, and that U.S. military action against the authors of the Benghazi attack — Ansar al-Sharia — is a top priority for Obama. The source considered it a “high probability” that such an attack will take place either later this month or in early November — just prior to election day. “If there is going to be an October Surprise, this is it,” the source emphasized. He added that White House staffers are already quietly briefing relevant people, including select media, to prepare them for the pending attack, to optimize the political benefits.

  An AP story posted by the Washington Post, Tuesday morning, says as much. According to leaks from current and former White house officials, and outside experts consulted by the White House, the Obama Administration is, indeed, casting about for targets to attack. While AP doesn’t explicitly say that Obama is looking for political advantage just before Election Day, the story quotes retired Air Force Lt. Col. Rudy Attalah, the Africa counterterrorism director for the Defense Department under President George W. Bush, as saying that the White House, rather than seeking a decisive blow against the perpetrators, is “aiming for a small pop, a flash in the pan, so as to be able to say, ‘Hey, we’re doing something about it.’”

  Meanwhile, the Pentagon and the State Department have launched a crash program to help the Libyan government create an elite force to battle militias like the one that attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi last month. $8 million has been shifted from Pakistan aid for the effort, which will likely be conducted by U.S. special forces troops. The effort began before the attack on the Benghazi consulate, but could function to put a Libyan face on any action that the administration decides to take in Libya, if any.
