Obama and Netanayu’s Push for Attack on Iran!

  • Ron Paul: Sanctions against Iran are ‘acts of war’ !
    December 29, 2011|By Paul West,
    http://www.latimes.com/

Reporting from Perry, Iowa — Defending himself against charges of isolationism, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul told voters in Iowa on Thursday that western sanctions against Iran are “acts of war” that are likely to lead to an actual war in the Middle East.
    -
Paul, one of the leading contenders to win next week’s Iowa caucuses, said Iran would be justified in responding to the sanctions by blocking the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz.  He compared the western sanctions to a hypothetical move by China to block the Gulf of Mexico, which Americans would consider an act of war.
    -
He also said he would not respond militarily to keep the strait open—because he would not consider it an act of war against the U.S.  But if he were president, he would report to Congress on the issue, leaving it up to lawmakers to declare war if they wanted.
    -
“I think we’re looking for trouble because we put these horrendous sanctions on Iran,” Paul told a midday audience at the Hotel Pattee in Perry, Iowa.  He said the Iranians are “planning to be bombed” and understandably would like to have a nuclear weapon, even though there is “no evidence whatsoever” that they have “enriched” uranium.
    -
Apparently alluding to Israel and its nuclear-weapons arsenal, Paul said that “if I were an Iranian, I’d like to have a nuclear weapon, too, because you gain respect from them.” To approving applause from a crowd of about 125, the Texas congressman said that “we always seem to have to have a country to bash,” linking the current saber-rattling against Iran to previous hawkish rhetoric that led to conflicts in Iraq, Libya and elsewhere. “If you want to quiet things down,” he said, referring to Iran, “don’t put sanctions on them” because it’s “just going to cause more trouble.”

Ann Barnhardt & Warren Pollock: Financial Collapse, Wall Street Financial Rape, Bank Holiday, Breakdown of Society ….

  • Warren Pollock and Ann Barnhardt Discuss MF Global and a Possible Bank Holiday
    by
    http://jessescrossroadscafe.blogspot.com/

Ann Barnhardt and Warren Pollock have an interesting discussion about the financial crisis, the setting of legal precedent, netting, settlement, and future trends including a possible bank holiday. They talk about MF Global as it applies to savings and commercial banking, brokerage, insurance, and commodities.
    -
They also discuss the numeric impossibility of solving the debt problem, the partnership between government and finance, and the injustice of having the victims pay the price for the crisis rather than the perpetrators. Ann and Warren also explain how the MF Global bankruptcy process could define the ways in which customer funds may be treated during a bank holiday.
    -
This idea of a bank holiday is intriguing, particularly with regard to the scope of it. Rather than just including the US, such a financial holiday could involve the greater part of the developed world in a coordinated restructuring of sovereign debt, and the revaluation of the world’s major currencies according to some formula. A new world order for the financial system if you will. It is certainly in the realm of possibility.

Iran, Russia Replace Dollar with National Currencies in Trade Exchanges!

  • This is another reason why the Anglo-American Zionist West will attack Iran. The western Illuminati will not give up their stranglehold on their USD world reserve currency hegemony. They do not want countries abandoning the USD until they are ready to replace it with their One World Currency backed by gold. World War 3 is a certainty because the Illuminists will not allow Russia and China to build an alternative to their monetary hegemony!

Iran, Russia Replace Dollar with National Currencies in Trade Exchanges!
    by
    http://english.farsnews.com/farsnews.php

    T
EHRAN (FNA)- Iran and Russia have replaced US Dollar with their own currencies in their trade ties, a senior Iranian diplomat announced on Saturday.
    -
Speaking to FNA, Tehran’s Ambassador to Moscow Seyed Reza Sajjadi said that the proposal for replacing US Dollar with Ruble and Rial was raised by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in a meeting with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Astana on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting.

    -
“Since then, we have acted on this basis and a part of our interactions is done in Ruble now,” Sajjadi stated, adding that many Iranian traders are using Ruble for their trade deals. “There is a similar interest in the Russian side,” the envoy stated, adding that Moscow is against unilateral sanctions on Iran outside the UN Security Council, specially the recent sanctions against Iran’s Central Bank (CBI).
    -
“The move (imposing sanction on the CBI) is unacceptable. Russians have clearly announced that they will not accept these sanctions and Iran’s nuclear issue is resolvable just through negotiations.” Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hit back at the US after Washington introduced new sanctions against Iran’s central bank. President Ahmadinejad told an annual meeting of senior central bank officials that Iran’s central bank would respond with “force” to the new US sanctions intended to pressure Tehran to abandon its nuclear program. He said the bank was strong enough to defeat “enemy plans”.
    -
The sanctions – which cut off from the US financial system foreign firms that do business with the central bank – are part of a defense bill signed by President Barack Obama earlier this month.
    -
The extra US sanctions aim to squeeze Iran’s oil sales, most of which are processed by the central bank, although many even in the West believe that the move would prove futile. During the last two years, Iran has been replacing dollar with other currencies in its trade with the outside world.
    -
Iran has replaced dollar in its oil trade with India, China and Japan. Late in November, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued the needed permission to the Central Bank of Iran to open rupee accounts with two Indian banks, namely UCO and IDBI, as a long-lasting solution to the two countries’ payment problems.
    -
Both accounts were opened in the respective banks’ Mumbai branches. A top official of city-based UCO Bank said while payments for his country’s oil imports would initially be in rupees, it would be then converted into a separate currency, which was yet to be decided by the apex bank.

Former IDF Chief Dan Halutz: Iran Does Not Pose an Existential Threat !

  • Perhaps all these genocidal, lying Zionist snakes have finally woken up. Zionist ’666′ Israel will not survive this coming Satanic World War 3. This is the Illuminist plan! The reality is: Zionist ’666′ Israel has never really been tested militarily on a large-scale. This war with Iran is unwinnable. The Zionists want America to do its dirty work for Zionist ’666′ Israel. But there is no escape for Zionist ’666′ Israel with this coming war!

Contrary to statements made when he was in office, former IDF chief Dan Halutz now negates ‘doomsday scenarios’ vis-à-vis Iran
    -
“Iran does not pose an existential threat to Israel,” former IDF Chief Dan Halutz said Friday. Halutz spoke at a strategy seminar held in Herzliya.
    -
“Iran poses a serious threat to Israel, but there is difference between ‘serious’ and ‘existential,’” he said. Halutz’ current position on the matter stands in stark contrast to the one he held when he served as the chief of staff.
    -
“We may find ourselves facing an existential threat if Iran continues to pursue its nuclear ambitions… it’s the only existential threat I can perceive for Israel,” he said in 2006.
    -
In October of 2006 he reiterated his position, saying: “(Israel) cannot remain indifferent to Iran, it has a combination of radical ideology with an intense desire to obtain nuclear weapons and the desire to destroy Israel.”
    -
Six year later and Halutz now sports a more moderate position: “I don’t think there’s room for any doomsday scenarios or comparisons with the Holocaust. I also don’t think Israel should be the one to lead any operation against Iran.”
    -
An existential threat, he explained “is defined as the other side’s ability to obliterate us off the face of the earth. That doesn’t apply nor do I think it will.

US Hypocrisy Towards Iran!

  • The provocations by the western forces are continuing. This is simply the setup for World War 3. Iran has not started a war in centuries. The Iran/Iraq war was started by Saddam Hussein and he was supported by the West. America supplied the weapons of mass destruction, the biological weapons, to Saddam Hussein which he used in the genocide of the Kurds!
    -
How Reagan Armed Saddam with Chemical Weapons!
On August 18, 2002, the New York Times carried a front-page story headlined, “Officers say U.S. aided Iraq despite the use of gas”. Quoting anonymous US “senior military officers”, the NYT “revealed” that in the 1980s, the administration of US President Ronald Reagan covertly provided “critical battle planning assistance at a time when American intelligence knew that Iraqi commanders would employ chemical weapons in waging the decisive battles of the Iran-Iraq war”. …
    -
While the August 18 NYT article added new details about the extent of US military collaboration with Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during Iraq’s 1980-88 war with Iran, it omitted the most outrageous aspect of the scandal: not only did Ronald Reagan’s Washington turn a blind-eye to the Hussein regime’s repeated use of chemical weapons against Iranian soldiers and Iraq’s Kurdish minority, but the US helped Iraq develop its chemical, biological and nuclear weapons programs.

    -
Iran-Iraq War, Arming Iraq: A Chronology of U.S. Involvement By: John King, March 2003.
… This chronology of the United States’ sordid involvement in the arming of Iraq can be summarized in this way: The United States used methods both legal and illegal to help build Saddam’s army into the most powerful army in the Mideast outside of Israel. The US supplied chemical and biological agents and technology to Iraq when it knew Iraq was using chemical weapons against the Iranians. The US supplied the materials and technology for these weapons of mass destruction to Iraq at a time when it was know that Saddam was using this technology to kill his Kurdish citizens. The United States supplied intelligence and battle planning information to Iraq when those battle plans included the use of cyanide, mustard gas and nerve agents. The United States blocked UN censure of Iraq’s use of chemical weapons. …

Under the U.S. client Shah Pahlavi, it was acceptable for Iran to develop nuclear energy.

Avoiding Another “Long War”: Intelligence Officials Reveal “Dubious” IAEA Report on Iran’s Alleged Nuclear Weapons Program!

Avoiding Another “Long War”: Intelligence Officials Reveal “Dubious” IAEA Report on Iran’s Alleged Nuclear Weapons Program
by Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity,
    http://www.globalresearch.ca/
    ,
    http://consortiumnews.com/

Exaggerated coverage of a dubious report by the International Atomic Energy Agency about Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program has spurred a rush toward a new war in the Middle East, but ex-U.S. intelligence officials urge President Obama to resist the pressures and examine the facts.
    -
    MEMORANDUM FOR:  The President
FROM:  Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS)
    SUBJECT:  Avoiding Another Long War
    -
As professionals with collectively hundreds of years of experience in intelligence, foreign policy, and counterterrorism, we are concerned about the gross misrepresentation of facts being bruited about to persuade you to start another war.
    -
We have watched the militarists represent one Muslim country after another as major threats to U.S. security. In the past, they supported attacks on Sudan, Somalia, Yemen, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya and Afghanistan, as well as Israel’s attacks on Syria and Lebanon — nine Muslim countries – and Gaza.
    -
This time, they are using a new IAEA report to assert categorically that Iran is building a nuclear weapon that allegedly poses a major threat to the U.S. Your intelligence and military advisors can certainly clarify what the report really says.
    -
As you know, the IAEA makes regular inspection visits to Iran’s nuclear facilities and has TV cameras monitoring those facilities around the clock. While there is reason to question some of Iran’s actions, the situation is not as clear-cut as some allege.
    -
Mohamed ElBaradei, a Nobel Peace Prize recipient and former IAEA director-general, said recently, “I don’t believe Iran is a clear and present danger. All I see is the hype about the threat posed by Iran.” He is not alone: All 16 U.S. intelligence agencies concluded “with high confidence” in a 2007 National Intelligence Estimate that Iran had halted its nuclear-weapons program as of 2003.
    -
We are seeing a replay of the “Iraq WMD threat.” As Philip Zelikow, Executive Secretary of the 9/11 Commission said, “The ‘real threat’ from Iraq was not a threat to the United States. The unstated threat was the threat against Israel.”
    -
Your military and intelligence experts can also provide information on unpublicized efforts to derail Iran’s nuclear program and on the futility of attempting to eliminate that program – which is dispersed and mostly underground – through aerial bombing.
    -
Defense Secretary [Leon] Panetta and other experts have stated that an air attack would only delay any weapons program for a year or two at most. Former Mossad head Meir Dagan said that an air force strike against Iran’s nuclear installations would be “a stupid thing,” a view endorsed in principle by two other past Mossad chiefs, Danny Yatom and Ephraim Halevy. Dagan added that “Any strike against [the civilian program] is an illegal act according to international law.”
    -
Dagan pointed out another reality: bombing Iran would lead it to retaliate against Israel through Hezbollah, which has tens of thousands of Grad-type rockets and hundreds of Scuds and other long-range missiles, and through Hamas.
    -
We are already spending as much as the rest of the world combined on National Security and $100 billion per year on a Long War in Afghanistan. The Israel lobby has been beating the drums for us to attack Iran for years, led by people with confused loyalties like Joe Lieberman, who once made the claim that it is unpatriotic for Americans not to support Israel.
    -
Another Long War is not in America’s or Israel’s interests, whatever Israel’s apologists claim. Those are the same people who claim that [Iranian President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad said he would “wipe Israel off the map.” Persian specialists have pointed out that the original statement in Persian actually said that Israel would collapse: “This occupation regime over Jerusalem must vanish from the arena of time.”
    -
What we have is a situation where Israel’s actions, for example in sending 300,000 settlers into the West Bank and 200,000 settlers into East Jerusalem, are compromising U.S. security by putting us at risk for terrorist retaliation.
    -
We have provided Israel with $100 billion in direct aid since 1975. Since this is fungible, how has funding settlements contributed to our security? You agreed to provide $3 billion in F-35s to Israel in exchange for a 90-day freeze on settlements. What you got was 90 days of stonewalling on the peace process and then more settlers. What more do we owe Israel?
    -
Certainly not a rush to war. We have time to make diplomacy and sanctions work, to persuade Russia and China to make joint cause with us.
    -
James Madison once wrote that “Of all the enemies of true liberty, war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded.… War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes. …No nation can preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.”
    -
We are currently winding down what you labeled a “dumb war;” we should not undertake another dumb war against a country almost three times larger than Iraq, that would set off a major regional war and create generations of jihadis. Such a war, contrary to what some argue, would not make Israel or the U.S. safer.

The New York Times is Lying About Iran’s Nuclear Program!

  • “All wars are based on deception!” – Sun Tzu, The Art of War
    -
The New York Times is Lying About Iran’s Nuclear Program!

    by Robert Naiman,
    http://www.justforeignpolicy.org/node/1125

It’s deja vu all over again. AIPAC is trying to trick America into another catastrophic war with a Middle Eastern country on behalf of the Likud Party’s colonial ambitions, and the New York Times is lying about allegations that said country is developing “weapons of mass destruction.”
    -
In an article attributed to Steven Erlanger on January 4 (“Europe Takes Bold Step Toward a Ban on Iranian Oil “), this paragraph appeared:
    -
The threats from Iran, aimed both at the West and at Israel, combined with a recent assessment by the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran’s nuclear program has a military objective, is becoming an important issue in the American presidential campaign. [my emphasis]
    -
The claim that there is “a recent assessment by the International Atomic Energy Agency that Iran’s nuclear program has a military objective” is a lie. As Washington Post Ombudsman Patrick Pexton noted on December 9,
    -
But the IAEA report does not say Iran has a bomb, nor does it say it is building one, only that its multiyear effort pursuing nuclear technology is sophisticated and broad enough that it could be consistent with building a bomb.
    -
Indeed, if you try now to find the offending paragraph on the New York Times website, you can’t. They took it down. But there is no note, like there is supposed to be, acknowledging that they changed the article, and that there was something wrong with it before. Sneaky, huh?
    -
But you can still find the original here.
    -
Indeed, at this writing, if you go to the New York Times website, and search on the phrase, “military objective,” the article pops right up. But if you open the article, the text is gone. But again, there is no explanatory note saying that they changed the text.
    -
This is not an isolated example in the Times’ reporting. The very same day – January 4 – the New York Times published another article, attributed to Clifford Krauss (“Oil Price Would Skyrocket if Iran Closed the Strait of Hormuz “), that contained the following paragraph.
    -
Various Iranian officials in recent weeks have said they would blockade the strait, which is only 21 miles wide at its narrowest point, if the United States and Europe imposed a tight oil embargo on their country in an effort to thwart its development of nuclear weapons [my emphasis].
    -
At this writing, that text is still on the New York Times website.
    -
Of course, referring to Iran’s “development of nuclear weapons” without qualification implies that it is a known fact that Iran is developing nuclear weapons. But it is not a known fact. It is an allegation. Indeed, when U.S. officials are speaking publicly for the record, they say the opposite.
    -
As Washington Post Ombudsman Patrick Pexton noted on December 9,
    -
This is what the U.S. director of national intelligence, James R. Clapper, told the Senate Armed Services Committee in March: “We continue to assess [that] Iran is keeping open the option to develop nuclear weapons in part by developing various nuclear capabilities that better position it to produce such weapons, should it choose to do so. We do not know, however, if Iran will eventually decide to build nuclear weapons.

When War Games Go Live. Preparing to Attack Iran. “Simulating World War III”

Iran encircled ! Source: http://www.globalresearch.ca/

  • An attack on Iran will drag China and Russia into the conflict. It will be the start of World War 3!
    -
When War Games Go Live. Preparing to Attack Iran. “Simulating World War III” !
    by Michel Chossudovsky,
    http://globalresearch.ca/

With ongoing war games on both sides, armed hostilities between the US-Israel led coalition and Iran are, according to Israeli military analysts, “dangerously close”. There has been a massive deployment of troops which have been dispatched to the Middle East, not to mention the redeployment of US and allied troops previously stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
    -
Nine thousand US troops have been dispatched to Israel to participate in what is described by the Israeli press as the largest joint air defense war exercise in Israeli history. The drill, called “Austere Challenge 12,” is scheduled to take place within the next few weeks. Its stated purpose “is to test multiple Israeli and US air defense systems, especially the “Arrow” system, which the country specifically developed with help from the US to intercept Iranian missiles.”
    -
In the course of December, Iran conducted its own war games with a major ten days naval exercise in the Strait of Hormuz, (December 24, 2011- January 2, 2012).
Missile defense and naval war games are being conducted simultaneously.  While Israel  and the US are preparing to launch major naval exercises in the Persian Gulf, Tehran has announced that it plans to conduct major naval exercises in February. An impressive deployment of troops and advanced military hardware is unfolding.
    -
Meanwhile, Israel has become a de facto US military outpost. US and Israeli command structures are being integrated, with close consultations between the Pentagon and Israel’s Ministry of Defense. A large number of US troops will be stationed in Israel once the war games are completed.
    -
The assumption of this military deployment is the staging of a joint US-Israeli air attack on Iran. Military escalation towards a regional war is part of the military scenario. Ultimately Israel is an American pawn. The people of Israel are the unspoken victims of US military ambitions, which consist in the conquest and “recolonization” –under a US mandate– of the Anglo-Persian oil empire.
    -
The History of War Planning: “Theater Iran Near Term” (TIRANNT)
The history of war planning including war games and simulations directed against Iran is essential to an understanding of recent developments in the Persian Gulf. Active war preparations directed against Iran (with the involvement of Israel and NATO) were initiated in May 2003, one month after the invasion and occupation of Iraq. It should be understood that from the outset of these war preparations, a World War III scenario was envisaged by US war planners.

    -
The assumption of escalation was embedded in the simulations and the war games. Moreover, the war on Iran was formulated as a “Global Strike” plan involving centralized military decision-making and coordination by US Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). A “Concept Plan” entitled CONPLAN 8022 was established in 2003. The operational CONCEPT PLAN (CONPLAN) 8022 is described as “an actual plan that the Navy and the Air Force translate into strike package for their submarines and bombers.”
    -
A simulated scenario of an all out bombing campaign against Iran entitled “Theater Iran Near Term” was implemented in May 2003.  (To be noted, there have been numerous simulations and war games which have not been made public). Code named by US military planners as TIRANNT,  “Theater Iran Near Term” had identified several thousand targets inside Iran as part of a “Shock and Awe” Blitzkrieg. (The analysis contained in this section is based on my earlier 2007 article entitled Theater Iran Near Term, Global Research, February 21, 2007)
    -
“In early 2003, even as U.S. forces were on the brink of war with Iraq, the Army had already begun conducting an analysis for a full-scale war with Iran. The analysis, called TIRANNT, for “theater Iran near term,” was coupled with a mock scenario for a Marine Corps invasion and a simulation of the Iranian missile force. U.S. and British planners conducted a Caspian Sea war game around the same time. And Bush directed the U.S. Strategic Command to draw up a global strike war plan for an attack against Iranian weapons of mass destruction. All of this will ultimately feed into a new war plan for “major combat operations” against Iran that military sources confirm now exists in draft form.
    -
… Under TIRANNT, Army and U.S. Central Command planners have been examining both near-term and out-year scenarios for war with Iran, including all aspects of a major combat operation, from mobilization and deployment of forces through postwar stability operations after regime change.” (William Arkin, The Pentagon Preps for Iran  Washington Post, 16 April 2006, emphasis added)
    -
What distinguishes the TIRANNT simulations in relation to previous (pre-2003) war game scenarios, is that a) they were conducted in the wake of the Iraq war and b) the Blitzkrieg assumptions behind TIRANNT are similar to those used in the intense March 2003 bombing campaign directed against Iraq.
    -
In other words, the bombing campaign scenarios under TIRANNT are not limited to surgical strikes directed against Iran’s nuclear facilities. They involve an “invasion scenario”, the deployment of Marines Corps, as well as “the mobilization and deployment of forces through postwar stability operations after regime change.”
    -
The assessment of these war games is crucial in evaluating recent developments in the Persian Gulf because it suggests that if an attack on Iran is implemented it will inevitably evolve towards an all out bombing campaign as well as a ground war.
