Banks share blame for irresponsible homebuyers with our Canadian real estate bubble, but I doubt they will take their share of losses when the time comes. All the losses the bank may simply be put on the board of the taxpayer, and banks are allowed to walk free from. The same can not be said for the idiot buyers who bought in recent years, little or nothing down. They are crushed economically when the subprime crisis coming.
